With the scorcher we're having (well overdue here in Ireland btw), what's your ultimate bestest summer song ??

I think he might have been our only decent teacher

I dunno, ask me in January. I'm freezing my tits off.

Sincerely,
Australia

PS: This summer last it was "Upstarts and Broken Hearts" by the Dropkick Murphys, always a fun summer band.

"I look back and wonder, sit and ponder
How I could have ever neglected you
From the blood-soaked soil of the old ball field
I gambled on a hand I wasn't ready to lose

But if the tables were turned and I faced the struggles
Tough times and troubles I put you through
I'd have been there as you were through heartache and hardship
My life and my love I pledge to you"

That is a great one!

Much to my husband's chagrin, I hold a soft spot in my heart for Beck. I don't own any albums but always get a smile when it comes up on the radio or a playlist somewhere. So I would say "Summer Girl".

If you ask my favorite "not quite summer, not quite fall" song, "September Gurls" by Big Star. And "Dan's Song" by FT fits that bill also I suppose.

Most of The Kinks songs, but in particular, Sunny Afternoon.

I've also found myself listening to Of Monsters And Men a lot more since the sun started shining.

Yellowcard's Ocean Avenue and Southern Air are my #1 summer records, followed by Ocean Eyes and All Things Bright And Beautiful by Owl City.
Vampire Weekend also gives me summer feels :)

Most of my fav summer songs come from 94/95 as I was young - finished GCSEs and rich and happy.

Some include :

Pixies - here comes your man
Dodgy - staying out for the summer
Supergrass - alright (or anything of 'i should coco')
Primal Scream - screamadelica (the track - not the album)
Bjork - big time sensuality
Orbital - belfast

I don't really have any modern summer tunes

Massively agree with that.
For me, my summer so far has been soundtracked by 'It's Alright, It's OK' by Primal Scream. I also find Free All Angels by Ash is a great summer album

+44 - Chapter 13

That entire album actually is such a summer album.
