Lost Evenings II

Post by Evan » Fri Oct 06, 2017 3:49 pm

Anyone get tickets yet? I imagine the conspiracy theorists of the Frank Turner Army are out in force today.

Personally, I find it incomprehensible that people don't seem to grasp the concept of a popular event selling out immediately. If more people are interested in going to something than there are tickets available, then not everyone is going to get one. Fairly simple mathematics if you ask me. And it's not "bots", it's people who got luckier than you did. There are zero available on the resale sites.

My money is on the day tickets doing exactly the same thing. It was awesome last year

I ventured onto FB earlier then quickly ran away again. I do understand the ticket-buying anxiety thing but people work themselves up into a total blind panic - and this is before any of the day tickets have even gone on sale.

But on a more positive note, I was lucky enough to get tickets in the first pre-sale and can't wait, after the awesomeness of last time. Is it too early to start thinking of a fantasy line-up? I'd love to see John K Samson or The Decemberists there . . . and surely we need to have Mainstage Marwood this time round!

EDIT: I'd also like to add Gaz Brookfield to the list after he just blew us all away in Southampton tonight. The best I've ever seen him (despite the morons who talked loudly in a quiet song LITERALLY RIGHT AFTER the song about not talking loudly in quiet songs. Urgh. People.)

I have no idea who is lined up for supports, but I would hazard a guess that there will be no repeats from last year. That's just a guess though.

fingers crossed for Friday, didn't get weekend tickets last year but hoped to get some this year alas we didn't so have to scramble for the day tickets on Friday, at least it gives us a chance of getting some seated tickets for the Sunday, standing gigs for 4 days on the trot is hard work
here's hoping the support could include the homeless gospel choir (my fav album of the year so far also Frank features on it) Skinny/Beans?will are all great I can't not see them featuring somewhere and as a curve ball Chas N Dave would be so much fun, I know Franks a fan

I have finally ventured over to the Faceache side as it was the only way of getting info & feedback as its been very quiet over here lately

Ooh, Homeless Gospel Choir - good shout. This fantasy line-up keeps getting better . . . I wonder if The Tailors could be persuaded back into action, after their brilliant set at Show 2000? And I'm very excited for another XMR night. Surely there'll have to be Mr McGowan in the mix. And maybe some Felix Hagan? And I'm still going to petition for Mainstage Marwood until I'm told otherwise :D

Good luck for Friday, Smartiepants!

I'm very much hoping to go along to some of this next year ... such a fun weekend ... apart from the bunk bed in a hostel with a rubber mattress ...

i guess for some the wipe clean bed linen works well

Omg, HGC is actually a pretty pretty good guess. I guess they could have him in mind.
And I don't think anyone who played last year (besides FT & Souls) will play again; if there's one exception I would guess it's Jay...

Having a look on the Xtra Mile Website; I'm hoping for Northcote, Tim Barry (who has a new record out and hasn't been in Europe for some years now...) and Sean McGowan could probably play the Xtra Mile Labelnight too.

well that was relatively painless, managed to get pairs for all 4 days, standing only so will look to swap at least the Sundays for seated tickets, there is time for that, i'm just pleased we have them

Smartiepants, How did you manage that before 10?

We tried before 10 and couldn’t buy them and when the site was live from 10 they were all sold out.

Totally pissed off so I really hope some nice folk on here have tickets that they can’t use 👍

Plenty of tickets left for Sunday and Monday. Roundhouse have limited tickets (about 4 looking at the seating map) for Friday as well.

Dammit - missed out on tickets for this. Even my "secret weapon" Stargreen which pretty much *always* has tickets on after all other sites have sold out had nothing - serves me right for forgetting to get up in time I suppose.

Really wanted to go to that Saturday show mainly - LI&S is up there as one of my favourite albums of all time.

Ho hum. Perhaps a ticket or two will appear on here nearer the time. :?

This year a lot of tickets showed up closer to the event. Don't give up hope!
