UK tour dates announced....

Re: UK tour dates announced....
Yeah people are transferring their anger over there. There have been some remarkably silly ones.
I particularly enjoyed "You LIED there's NO LEEDS SHOW".
There is a Leeds show.
Also, I'll say this here because it'll hit its intended audience. This tour doesn't include show 2000. We have other plans, and I'm working on a scheme to try and make sure tickets get to the right people. This forum might be a spot to watch.

I for one can't wait for the Leeds show. I'm sure it exists! Should be fun on the ticket sites tomorrow....
Re: UK tour dates announced....
I cannot believe that anyone would think that a tour schedule could be built around their requirement!
If you want to attend a gig there is always a way and I know myself amongst many others have travelled significant distances for gigs (not just FT ones I hasten to add)

Re: UK tour dates announced....
too true, none of the dates are good for me this time, no time off left for midweek gigs and the weekend dates are nowhere near where i am going to be unless we change plans, we are flying out to the Dublin Gig that was booked before this tour was announced for a bit of a break so no complaints from mescotty94 wrote:I cannot believe that anyone would think that a tour schedule could be built around their requirement!

So far my favourite is the girl asking why there are no German dates on this tour.frank wrote:

I'm a bit of a geography / cartography nerd and had some time today to play around with Google Maps and Photoshop and put a map of 50 miles radius of each show on Twitter.

Baring scheduling conflicts with work, family, other stuff and insufficient public transport (if you don't/can't drive), every Brit should be able to get to a show within a 60 - 90 minutes drive. I love that the Scotland shows are scheduled Friday / Saturday which means fans from the Highlands have the chance to drive there and back and sleep in on the next morning
I personally LOVE these tourdates, because they work great for me. I wanted to come over from Germany for at least one show (my #20) and was hoping for easily accessible (near airport) dates on weekends. Edinburgh it will be then, and that's ace, because I love this city!

I like your map very much.
I am toying with Scunthorpe and Warrington, simply because I have never been to either place.

Re: UK tour dates announced....
Thanks! One of the many things I like about tour announcements is reading all those cities names and discovering new extraordinary ones, which I haven't heard before and thus didn't even knew existed. "Kalamazoo, MI,USA" is up there this year right along with "Scunthorpe", which sounds so utterly British to me. And I'm the nerd who looks those cities up on a map when I like a name.Evan wrote:

I do the same. Google Earth/Street View is the single greatest invention of the digital age if you ask me.SusanneD wrote: "Scunthorpe", which sounds so utterly British to me. And I'm the nerd who looks those cities up on a map when I like a name.
I imagine Scunthorpe to be a not terribly nice place. I have no idea of course, but I have never heard anyone remark on how wonderful it is.

Scunthorpe - Only English word containing 'cunt' to my knowledge.
Mate went to uni in Warrington and I visited a few times. Pretty bleak back then. Maybe improved now though.
