Best Albums of 2013
After being challenged to list my top ten albums of the year on twitter and finally coming up with a list, I was curious to see how it compares to other people's lists. It was a really good year for albums and so hard to narrow it down to just ten, there are several albums that very narrowly missed out, but here we go (in no particular order)
1. The Joy Formidable - Wolf's Law, it came out at the start of the year and I haven't got bored of it yet.
2. Max Raptor - Mother's Ruin, one of my favourite bands at the moment
3. Public Service Broadcasting - Inform - Educate - Entertain
4. Drenge - Drenge
5. Wet Nuns - Wet Nuns, it appears that duos have been my favourite musical thing this year
6. Larry And His Flask - By The Lamplight
7. Dinosaur Pile-Up - Nature Nurture
8. The Bronx - Bronx IV
9. Frightened Rabbit - Pedestrian Verse, despite thinking that the previous FR albums were only ok, I really love this.
10. Jetplane Landing - Don't Try
Your turn now.

Re: Best Albums of 2013
Looking through my itunes it turnes out I've only brought 8 albums that were released this year. So here's my top 7:
1-Ben Marwood - Back Down
2-Frank Turner - Tape Deck Heart
3-Jamie Lenman - Muscle Memory
4-Black Sabbath - 13
5- Emily Barker - Dear River
6-Beans on Toast- Giving Everything
7-Oxygen Thief - Accidents Do Not Happen, They Are Caused
Biffy Clyro's Opposites is the other album, but this sham of a Biffy album doesn't deserve a place on any this list.
Thanks Blonde for reminding me that I am still yet to get The Bronx album.

Re: Best Albums of 2013
I hardly got any new albums last year.
I think my fav album was the Disclosure album.
Must start listening to more new music in 2014.

Re: Best Albums of 2013
This is basically just a list of albums I loved, not by any means an objective ranking. I don't buy a lot of albums, to be honest. Lots of things piqued my interest that I still haven't gotten around to buying. That said, the ones I have gotten have made it a great year for albums. The top three I am deeply in love with.
1. Frank Turner, Tape Deck Heart
2. Arctic Monkeys, AM
3. The National, Trouble Will Find Me
4. Biffy Clyro, Opposites
5. Bastille, Bad Blood
6. James Blunt, Moon Landing
7. Nine Inch Nails, Hesitation Marks
8. Ben Marwood, Back Down
9. Keane, Best Of (I normally can't be bothered with "best of" albums, but this is one of the nicest such collections I've ever seen. Really a nice retrospective of their career and the bonus disc with B-Sides is incredible.)
10. Muse, Live at Rome (Honestly I was actually a bit disappointed with the track choice, left out a lot of my favorites they played that night, and the sound quality could be better, but at the end of the day, I turn to mush at all the memories it evokes.)
I can't help but feel I forgot something.

Re: Best Albums of 2013
Listened to lots of stuff and bought plenty, but very little that was actually released in 2013. I am about one or two years behind…
Tape deck heart - FT
Vagrant stanzas - Martin Simpson
All hail bright futures - And So I Watch You From Afar
P.S. Really like the Addistock post above with the Youtube links.
