Most Remembered Frank Album?

Post by mankytoes » Fri Oct 18, 2013 3:38 pm

Which album do you think Frank will be remembered most for?

I always thought it would be Love, Ire and Song. Maybe that's because it's the first one I heard, and it's the time I got into him, but I think it has the most recognised songs. Early albums also tend to be the most remembered. However, with the chart breakthrough of Tape Deck Heart, maybe that will be the one. Or maybe current trajectory indicates it hasn't been released yet.

Thoughts?
If you're oh so fucking different, who cares what you have to say?

Currently it seems he's best-known for TDH and EKMB, but a lot of the fans think LI&S is the 'classic'. Perhaps this will remain true - time will tell.

The lad is only 31. He'll keep his current work ethic until he drops while on stage one day when he's at least 95. Though with the advancements in medicine and his back-breaking touring schedule, he'll probably be half cyborg by the time he's 60. (We'll have the technology, the capability, to make the world's first bionic man. Frank Turner will be that man. Better than he was before. Better...stronger...faster).

I figure his most memorable album is yet to come. And that there'll be a lot of albums in competition for that title.

I think it's something we need to wait for. I think - among fans at least - then it's going to vary, depending on personal favourite. Personally it'll be EKMB, because it was the first of Frank's albums I fell in love with. I agree that Love, Ire & Song is pretty perfect, but I think he still has some excellent albums up his sleeve.

It's too soon to be talking about this sort of thing, come back when we're talking about album numbers in double figures. Then we might be in a better position to choose which he's most likely to be remembered for!
I'm no good at thinking of something funny enough for these things.

I'm only 31. I hope whatever I will be remembered for is something I have yet to do.

Frank is still in the "up up and away" portion of his career. He and his music will continue to evolve and change. I can't wait to see what he'll do next.

I think he has already made his best album and it's downhill from here.

I only discovered FT's music the past year. England Keep My Bones was the first album I listened to and I adored it. Then I kind of worked my way back until Tape Deck Heart came out. Love Ire & Song is def one of my fav albums. I feel as though EKMB still might be my favorite. Songs like Redemption and I Am Disappeared really hit close to home for me.

Aw, I quite like Ed Sheeran. Especially that one song about the prostitute in winter.

I think it'll be depending on where in the world people are asked. Such as in the US itll be TDH but in England I think it might be LI&S. Maybe? haha.

Up until TDH, LI&S was my personal favorite album. I do feel that LI&S was the "breakthrough" album, so it'll probably always rank high on a lot of people's lists.

Not sure if your statement would be right. I'm in the US, and whatever store I walk into that sells CD's never has any Frank...not even TDH! So over here, I think the favorite album is whichever one resonates with you the most.

Aren't most artists most known for earlier stuff though?

Generally yes. Because they are usually their best albums.

But I think Frank has better albums in him.
