Also ... hunting through some stuff today and came across some Itallian chocolate and sweets that I had hidden when a friend brought their child over a while back (you know the kind of child that just has to touch everything, and thinks that anything they "find" belongs to them... Ughhhh!)

I did notice that yesterday and meant to reply but got distracted (probably by something shiney or covered in chocolate)

Its a very boring story, I sent an email to my Boss a few years ago and didnt put in a subject, somehow Yahoo at the time was randomly generating subject titles and it sent it with 'Never put a sock in a toaster'.....this was my email containg my yearly review and my argument for a pay rise and bonus! Luckily it's a very laid back environment.

It did spark a very odd converation about what would actually happen, depending on what kind of sock was in the toaster, we did conclude that tights in a toaster would be a disaster.

The first few days of spring, with the smell of jasmine in the air and the parrots all flashing about in their lovely colours, dive-bombing and squabbling, and the cockatoos like bits of snow on the grass at (Sydney's) Hyde Park...

....even when you view them on your way to and from the library.

--walls covered in fuschia, red, purple, and peach bougainvillea
--Purple jacaranda trees in bloom in LA
--poppies, tulips, foxgloves, morning glories, and probably more (Roses are so BORING.)
--the way Southern California afternoon sunlight bathes everything in a golden haze [okay, maybe some of that's pollution, but hey, it's home]
--taking the Metro (train) into downtown as small penance for all the gas/petrol my car spews into the atmosphere on most days
--living in a neighborhood where I can walk to bars, restaurants, and Amoeba Records (after living most of my life in the suburbs where this was not the case)
--riding the London Underground [I know, I romanticize it...]
--Target shopping sprees [a corporate indulgence I actually enjoy for their low prices...fuck Walmart]
--dramatic cloudscapes in Britain, somewhere I don't get to visit often enough
--homemade macaroni and cheese!
--climbing something tall and getting a great view from the top
--Cockney accents that remind me of the first school I ever worked in
--wind chimes that remind me of being at my grandma's house when I was young
--candy necklaces (Are these sold in tne UK/Europe? Hmmm...)
--TACO TRUCKS! (Brits: Think kebab vans, but Mexican. )
--streetside fruit vendors the world over
--sangria (first thing I ever got drunk on!) and cider (memories of London, AGAIN)
--bike rides
--skating around our banked roller derby track and forgetting everything else for an hour
--finishing other people's crossword puzzles
--cranking up the volume on the car stereo and singing at the top of my lungs on the freeway, comforted in knowing no one else is subjected to my vocal stylings
--doing cartwheels
--reading a good poem

I'm sure that's plenty.

I was tempted to put "singing along with other people at Frank Turner shows", but how I can consider that a "small thing"?! That's HUGE!
