Website Redesign
Hello everyone
So, I'm looking at overhauling my site. I have some people on standby to do this. Just wondering if anyone has any favourite websites for other bands or anything else really. Also, what would you like to see on the site? Obviously we're keeping the forum and blog and all that.

Re: Website Redesign
Not too complicated layout, there's nothing more annoying than when you can never find something on a website.

Re: Website Redesign
I think it's important to keep it simple and easy to use really.
Perhaps a live chat section maybe, live messaging between members you know

Re: Website Redesign
Actual up to date discography with pressing details for vinyl etc.. would be nice. Maybe even a 'check out my mates' section with links to other awesome people.

Website Redesign
News - gig dates - lyrics - releases - videos - merch
I don't think bands need more than that unless you are going to so website exclusive content like live sessions, competitions etc

I like the Boss's official website - brucespringsteen.net
It is fairly simple but really informative. He also has the set-lists of all of his gigs over the last 4 or 5 years. I always like looking at the set-lists. That would be a good addition.
Other thank that, I agree with Marowak.

noticed larry and his flask's website was pretty nice when i was on it today
Re: Website Redesign
I don't think a lot needs changing; one of the main bonuses of your site is that it's simple, yet informative.
Re: Website Redesign
yeah, this would be cool. either that, or perhaps a "what i'm listening to" section, possibly in the form of a Spotify playlist or something similar, it'd be cool to hear the stuff that's currently inspiring you. just a thought!Rubber_Soul wrote:Maybe even a 'check out my mates' section with links to other awesome people.

Hey Frank:
To me, the beauty and uniqueness of your website is the frequency with which it (you) update it. It makes it current and relevant. Almost like being in real-time. To that end, I would say to try to keep the renovations simple, so that updates don't become a chore.
Also, people seem to always have an interest in chords/tabs/lyrics.
The chat option also sounds interesting.
Thanks for asking,
darlene

Re: Website Redesign
Maybe The Sleeping Souls could have a section of their own, although what would go in it I don't know.
Apart from that, there isn't anything else that really needs adding. Things just need making easier to find. For example, if you want to look at lyrics for a certain song, you have to scroll down the whole page til you find them, there isn't an option to jump to the album.

Please avoid any music automatically playing when the website loads up. If I want to listen to a song or clip, then I'll click play myself!

Re: Website Redesign
A few ideas that others said that I like:
.A live chat would be kind of cool
.I like the idea of a section dedicated to set lists
.A section for/about The Sleeping Souls is a necessary I reckon, possibly bios and some other stuff?
