Sorry to be pedantic but Covering Ground was released in 2011...if it had been 2012 it would have been the only one on my list cos it pisses on everything released this year in my opinion!

And I agree that Band Of Skulls' first album is better.

Some of my fave albums released this year:

JL and TSS - Death
FOTL - Plot Against Common Sense
Pulled Apart By Horses - Tough Love
The Futureheads - Rant
Captain Dangerous - The Empire Never Ended
We Are Augustines

The albums I've been most disappointed by are from The Cribs and The Big Pink.

Of Monsters and Men - My Head Is an Animal .. fucking amazing album! Not bought that many 'bad' albums but was expecting more from the new Mumford and Vaccines records..
But if you're all about the destination, then take a fucking flight.

One of my favourite albums this year has been Welcome Home by All The Young. They're a new band from Stoke, I only heard about them as the drummer is the brother of a mate of mine.

Edit - just realised that was released last year. Where the fuck does the time go?

sure it was released at the start of this year says 2012 on the case. Is a great album though, the song welcome home being the highlight personally

The Futureheads album is brilliant, Jack White's is also stunning. I think Mac Demarco's might be the best so far though.

Favourites: Jack White's "Blunderbuss" and Ryan Bingham's "Tomorrowland".

Worst? If I think something is bad I don't really listen to it. Does Christina Aguilera still release records...?
I bought Jonathan Wilson's album based on good reviews, and am somewhat disappointed by it. I wouldn't call it bad though.
