Well...that was a little bit good wasn't it, and Frank playing an arena show? It sure was different and a bit weird, but fucking hell it felt so right as well. As I have said elsewhere though I'm sort of struggling to find words to describe how good it was and how much I enjoyed myself. It was just beyond incredible.
Re: Wembley
God bless 24 hour Costa Coffee, and the man working there for not kicking me and my friend out! Absolutely amazing night, I expect to see much more arena action from t'old Frankyboy.
Also, apologies to any poor people I was stood around, I suppose having a long haired twat jumping about to every song was a bit offputting, but fuck it. I was having a good time.

Re: Wembley
Amazing setlist. The live rendition of 'Father's Day' had me pretty choked up!
The collaboration with Billy Bragg during the encore was absolutely out of this world too.
Also, anybody else feel that 'I Want To Dance' is like a modern day 'Bohemian Rhapsody'?

When I awoke yesterday I was like a little kid on Christmas morning. Never been so excited. But last nights gig was beyond my imagination! I new it would be fantastic but that was something else.
What a great crowd too. I've never seen so many people smile so much. Everyone really came together, looked after one another and just had pure fun.
Franks poetry and energy really brings out the best in people.

Re: Wembley
Just a little bit special. Never thought I would go to a Frank Turner gig and not be able to see the back of the room, plus having people around us know all the words to Nashville Tennessee was fantastic! Also, Frank's Mum is awsome.
To sum it all up: my throat hurts!

Absolutely fantastic night. "Four Simple Words/I Want To Dance" is already a corker of a tune and definitely got me dancing
Was great to hear Substitute and Fathers Day too. Frank has made me a very happy bunny! Bring on the next tour!!

I'd like to agree with Boogaloo. There was a really incredible atmosphere last night and it was one of the friendliest most joyous audiences I've been a part of for probably any gig I've ever been to - it felt kind of like a celebration. I knew people there but I was the only one with a standing ticket so was on my own, but the people around me could not have been friendlier and we were all singing and dancing along together - just brilliant.
As an aside for anyone who saw Beans On Toast busking outside after the show - I was just standing there when 2 girls came up next to me wondering to each other what was going on. Then one turned to her mate and said "oh it's nothing, it's just some drunkard".
Needless to say I jumped straight in and corrected her.

Re: Wembley
That gig was immense! Worth the travel!
Now, I'm gonna start drinkin in the Wheelbarrow at 7 just to check out Beans pub

I'd rather be the one who loves than to be loved and never even know.
Re: Wembley
Watching beans on Wembley Way was a brilliant way to finish it all, a mini celebration, even if I nearly missed my train home as a result.
I think the celebratory theme to the whole night was fantastic, even if it meant Frank is now (maybe) hanging up Ballad of Me and My Friends. Can't wait for the DVD of it now.

Re: Wembley
so that was fun, had been in two minds whether to attend or not and even didn't know if I was going to until I got on the Jubilee line, not a fan of big gigs but forced myself there, did miss all the supports bar one Billy Bragg song due to travelling from South London.
So many times I looked at the big screen to see the sweeping crowd shots and seriously couldn't believe that it was really happening, didn't look real at all. Amazingly it didn't lose what I love about seeing him live, which is a friendly focused audience and a great setlist. A couple of times I did forget myself when Tarrant pulled out one of his fantastic bass lines - totally awed by his superbass powers - which I love about the Sleeping Souls gigs. The new song Four Simple Words I think should be our entry to the Eurovision flipping hilarious and a good time song.
Frank does have some amazing fans and can't wait for the next gig!
End of Ballard? Maybe time for a complete set list shuffle?
although should remember not everyone sees an artist over and over
end of ramble

Re: Wembley
Just a question, for those that were standing. Were any of you stood directly in front of Ben, about 15 or so rows back? Pretty sure I recognised them from prior gigs and what have you, just wondered if those good looking faces belonged to any of you folks?

That's roughly where I was, left of the mosh pit. Did anyone else see security drag out the guy who was waving the broom up in the air?
