Jim Lockey & The Solemn Sun

Post by Owen » Mon Apr 09, 2012 12:04 pm

I was watching an interview yesterday where you were talking about Jim Lockey & The Solemn Sun.
So, I went and had a listen to them, and thought they were alright. I'd like to get into them, could you recommend certain tracks to listen to, that would make a Frank Turner fan enjoy their work?
Cheers Frank:)

one of the songs off the latest record (out today!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IriTB7aj ... ure=relmfu

think you should just buy everything they've done - there's only two albums after all!
Shows? nowhere near enough of 'em!

Dude, thanks so much for posting this! I've had this video on repeat all morning. Infectious song! Do you think they're likely to play it at the Barfly?

I better get cracking on the new album then, two days to learn some songs!

Also, does anyone know anywhere I can purchase the CD and get an immediate digital download of the album???

I'm kind of old-fashioned in the sense that I love having a physical copy of an album. Whilst buying from iTunes is very handy, it's just not the same, and I love adding to my CD collection too much. Plus I want to make sure the artist benefits as much as possible from my purchase. But I won't be able to visit an indie record shop or order online to receive it in time.

I reckon it's likely that they'll play it. Jim often plays it unplugged in the center of the crowd towards the end of the set.

The video was when I put them on last year. That was easily one of my favourite gigs.
