Apologies to Frank Turner

Post by benchurch » Tue Oct 20, 2015 1:34 pm

Hey everyone,

About three years ago I missed a gig I wanted to go to basically more than almost anything - Frank Turner in Newcastle. He'd sold out long before I got a look in, so instead I arranged to see my new girlfriend. Then I got a call from a friend on the day of the gig - he'd snagged two tickets, one could be mine. If I wanted it. I did. Unfortunately, she'd already started driving to me and even if I could get hold of her it's really very early in the relationship to cancel so last minute. So I don't - I turn the ticket down and spend the night with her. It was a good decision, in hindsight.

Except now I find myself in a similar situation for his upcoming gig in Newcastle and I'm somewhat gutted. So I wrote a song about the whole called 'Apologies to Frank Turner' - if you're interested you can listen to it here.

'Guitar groups are on the way out.' - Dick Rowe of Decca Records, rejecting The Beatles.
