Rank The Albums

Post by Tomasz » Mon Aug 10, 2015 10:02 am

Obviously you can't choose between them, they're all your children and you love them all equally. But...

1) Love, Ire and Song
2) Tape Deck Heart
3) Positive Songs for Negative People
4) England Keep My Bones
5) Poetry of the Deed
6) Sleep is for the Week

Two and three are interchangeable at the moment, bit more time with PSNG might bump it up to two

I'm not going to include PSFNP because it's too early to judge it objectively.

1) Love Ire & Song
2) England Keep My Bones
3) Poetry of the Deed
4) Sleep is for the Week
5) Tape Deck Heart

I personally prefer POTD and SIFTW to EKMB, but I feel EKMB deserves to be near the top, objectively.

When you use the word "objectively", what do you mean by that, exactly? Because unless you're ranking them on a factual measure then I don't think it means what you think it means.

he's right. objectively means without feeling and with music there is a lot of feeling.

maybe subjective would work better.

Mail order to Ireland seemingly takes a long time, but in any case it would be too early to rate the new album.
As for the others:
1. EKMB, 2. Love, ire and song, 3. Tape deck heart, 4. Poetry of the deed, 5. Sleep is for the week.

I mean, how good the quality of the music actually is, without being influenced by personal bias. For example, I prefer POTD to EKMB because POTD is more important to me on a personal level, but I would concede that EKMB is actually the superior album.

When Tape Deck Heart came out I ranked it as Frank's second best but I would now rank it much lower - I don't think it's possible to judge an album you've only been listening to for a few days.

Really too early to judge PSFNP, I doubt it'll break my top 3, but could come close.

1. Love Ire And Song
2. England Keep My Bones
3. Sleep Is For The Week
4. Poetry of The Deed
5. Tape Deck Heart

Mine arrived yesterday, Watergirl, hope you're sorted by now too.

My order would be similar to yours, although I might swap 4 and 5 (possibly 1 and 2 depending on the mood!). Too early to say where the new one will rank, but I've had a serious case of Mittens earworm for the last few days (which is all the more odd as I wasn't keen on the song when I first heard it played live)
