I am pretty sure Eva would agree, were she to understand the concept of bonus tracks.

What I wanted to say is, I would have put One foot and Nights become days as bonus tracks and put Eva Mae and Wanderlust on the regular version.

One Foot is way too great to get rid of. I'd probably swap out something for Wanderlust, not sure what though.

Completely agree about the production comment towards thatalbum though, it's such a great sounding record.

Thanks for the detailed response Frank. I agree Balthazar should've been on EKMB - I always thought it could have been a hidden track after Glory Hallelujah.

- England: proud of this one too, though I made a duff choice about tracklisting (swap balthazar for nights become days please); favourite production by far
As long as we're on the subject I've switched the positions of tracks two and three on my copy. To my ears Eulogy -> I Still Believe -> Peggy works better for the momentum of the album. Otherwise a flawless work. Looking forward to the Nashville sessions. Is there a Nashville Tennessee '14 in the works for a bonus track?

I like One foot before the other very much.
A couple of my most favourite songs have been bonus tracks: Balthazar, Cowboy chords, Gene Simmons, Sailor's boots .

Curious how the albums that are considered lesser albums (not by me; I love TDH) have some of the biggest live favourites on them all the same: Try this at home, The road, Dan's song, Recovery, Four simple words, The way I tend to be.

Today, Frank referred to the song "Old Flames" being worked on in the studio. For anyone curious, this is Frank's comment about it in a previous forum post:

"...also (fact fans) there was another song on Love Ire & Song once, which has never seen the light of day (because the computer fucked the files while we were recording and i've never got round to doing it again). it's a duet song, written to be sung with Florence (who in the intervening time got too cool to sing with me, hm). Ciara Haidar recorded a vocal on it. It was called "old flames". I think it was quite good. hm."

Happy to see it's getting some attention again.
shows? 62 so far

Thanks.

Must have been a pain in the ass once again to choose what song is going to end up on the regular version and which song is going to be a bonus track....

(as It was for TDH...)

I'm kind of hoping there is not a deluxe version this time and the extra tracks are kept for b-sides.

I don't mind deluxe editions, I just wish there was only one. The industry practice of having different versions for Amazon US/Amazon UK/iTunes US/iTunes UK/etc. is just annoying. I'm not a fan of having to do research to figure out which version I want.

I get far too annoyed at iTunes exclusive songs, makes me feel like I'm being punished for buying the CD and not downloading it.

I am checking out Lindi Ortega after seeing that in-the-studio picture. What a great voice!
Her name rang a bell; realize that I managed to miss her at Cambridge this summer…. Her 'Tennessee Christmas' E.P. is fantastic.
