Hi,
First post here - I desperately need new music - similar to Frank if poss, although I am open to other genres.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Check out these fine albums if you like things with a bit of a poppy chorus - http://addistock.bigcartel.com/products

There are also tons of sessions with like minded people here - http://addistock.wordpress.com/

If you don't find someone you like on there I'll be amazed.

Enjoy.

It would help to know what you already listen to. Have you tried Billy Bragg, Ben Marwood, Dylan, Springsteen, The Hold Steady, The Weakerthans?

My daughter and I adore the band Twenty One Pilots. I bring them up because they are not the same genre as Frank and not popular (yet) in the UK, so you may not have heard of them. Their music resonates with (particularly young) people with struggles, people feeling lost and broken. There is not a weak song on their album, Vessel. They are actually touring Europe next month.

Second vote for Twenty One Pilots. My daughter has seen them three time in the last year and adores them

I'm really digging Spoon's new album "They Want My Soul"

You should also try Pedro The Lion.

A friend gig into them and became obsessed with Vessel. In terms of popularity though, they've been selling out shows they've played here this year.

Thanks to your good self I have now become slightly obsessed by this band, woke up with one of their tunes mind worming me, really love them. Will invest in the album. I really like it when music morphs into something original.

I love hearing this! I'm one of the older fans, but I love their message. The younger people certainly connect with them. Their anti-suicide/anti-harm message is strong in their song "Guns for Hands."

Tyler Joseph's impassioned plea: "I know that you have the ability to hurt yourself. I recognize that. But let's take that energy, and let's point it at something else. Let's shift momentum and look at something like art, or this music, or even point it at me. Point it anywhere. Just don't point it at yourself."

Seeing videos of live performances, he's a very...interesting individual. But the live show also looks amazing. I keep looking to see if they'll play the UK again.

Alas, sold out. And I'll never get to London from work on time.
