Best Song on Tape Deck Heart

Plenty of time to let it sink in now, what's the best song on the album?

For me, it's definitely Tell Tale Signs, that ending is one of the most heartfelt things I've ever heard. I also really love Tattoos, which is odd I think for someone with no tattoos.

That depends. Best song for what?

Best song for giving you hope (and for jumping jacks/star jumps)? Recovery.
Best song for creating a moshing crowd frenzy? Four Simple Words
Best song for making you want to get a tattoo? Tattoos.
Best song for making you feel solidarity with all the other screw-ups in the world, and for making you feel a twinge of guilt for not skipping it when kids are in the car? Plain Sailing Weather.
Best song for ripping your heart out? Anymore.
Best song for ripping your heart out, and simultaneously making you want to slap someone and hug Frank? Tell Tale Signs.

Try it. It’s fun.

This isn't even up for debate...

It's Broken Piano. Everyone knows that.

I don't think there is any weak track on this album. (except in my opinion We shall not overcome, It's by the way the only bonus track that Sounds like a bonus track to my ears, the others could easily have made it onto the standard version, especially Cowboy Chrods, what a matserpiece...)
I quite didn't like The Fisher King at the beginning, now I just love it.

If I really had to pick one...I'd also choose Tell Tale Signs.

I don't think any other songs would have sucked me into the music of FT quite as quickly as the mosh pit anthem awesomeness of Four Simple Words did. Awesome intro to an awesome artist and collection of songs.

Poor, misguided people. "The Fisher King Blues" is flawless.

I can't decide between 'The way I tend to be' and 'The fisher king blues'.

I still haven't heard 'Fisher king blues' live. Last chance on this tour will be Budapest and Prague for me….

I'd like to add that Plain Sailing Weather is obviously the best song on Tape Deck Heart. I think it shows the standard of the album when no one seems to agree on one track

i re-listened over the weekend and my personal favs are : 4 simple words, plain sailing weather and broken piano.

i don't think you can single out a single best track ... they are all of a very high standard. i also really like 'the way i tend to be' ... which for a long time was my least favourite, but now i really like it.

If I had to narrow it down to one it'd be Plain Sailing Weather however The Fisher King Blues is also excellent, still can't understand why it's never played live.

I've heard it live, and that cinched it for me as my favorite. The lyrics are smart and clever, and the way the instrumentals build at the end.... I just love it!
