Going to have to get around to taabbing out Wherefore Art Thou, Gene Simmons? properly. I've had it worked out for a while now, it's just a case of physically typing it up. I also just figured out the very start of We Shall Not Overcome, so that will probably follow pretty soon. I'm thinking of doing Love 40 Down, too. And Out of Breath (or as much of it as I can decipher ha ha)

Anyway, hat's the future for now :')

Thanks, man! Really means a lot! :D

I'm working on Love 40 Down. A few lyrics I can't decipher as of right now, and some others I'm just not 100% if they're right, but I've thrown together a preliminary chord sheet so people can have fun with it whilst I'm still figuring it out
It's still very messy and a lot of the chords are from memory as my YouTube isn't working right now. Pretty sure they're right, though.

Have fun with it for now and I'll keep updating it :)

EDIT: GOOD NEWS - I've deciphered all but one of the lyrics (literally jumped for joy at one of them, because it just came to me and made sense on one random listen xD) and all the chords are in place!

I have almost all of the lyrics to Get Better, the chords to the verse is the same as the chorus to Mittens. The chorus; I have the basic chords but I'm going to figure out if they're just your standard chords or more intricate variations. The only lyrics I don't relaly know for sure (as I can't really hear them) are at the end of the bridge and the last chorus.

I apologise if none of this made sense. I've had very little sleep and my brain won't English right now. I'll put up what I have in a wee while, once I've had a nap :')

The new song played at Larmer Fest - The Next Storm

-VERSE-
We had a difficult winter
We had a rough few months
And when the storms came in off the coast
It felt like they broke
Everything on us at once

-PRE-CHORUS-
And it's easy enough to talk about --- spirit
When you're not holding the roof up and knee-deep in it
And everything got soaked by the wind and the rain
And I wondered if we'd ever get dry again

-CHORUS-
Well, I don't want to spend the whole of my life indoors
Just laying low and waiting on the next storm
I don't want to spend the whole of my life inside
I want to step out and see the sunshine

-VERSE-
We lost faith in the omens
We lost faith in the Gods
We lost faith in those empty rituals
Like a gambler clutching on ---

-PRE-CHORUS-
And I don't care what the weatherman was saying
Because the last time I saw him he was on his knees and he was praying
But the scientists and the preachers, they all got wet just the same
And I wondered if we'd ever get dry again

-CHORUS-
Well, I don't want to spend the whole of my life indoors
Laying low and just waiting on the next storm
I don't want to spend the whole of my life inside
I want to step out and see the sunshine

-BRIDGE-
So, open the shutters
Raise up the mast
Rejoice, rebuild; the storm has passed

Open the shutters
Raise up the mast
Rejoice, rebuild; the storm has passed

Rejoice, rebuild; the storm has passed

-OUTRO-
I don't want to spend the whole of my life indoors
I don't want to spend the whole of my life indoors
I don't want to spend the whole of my life inside
I want to step out and see the sunshine

EDIT: I've worked out all of the guitar part for 'Get Better', and I'm only unsure on one line in the bridge, but here it is -- sorry it took so long, Owen!

http://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/f/frank ... er_crd.htm

Code: Select all

Frank Turner - Get Better

NOTE: All "(RIFFS)" are completely optional.
It's something I came up with to 'thicken' the song when played acoustically.
It incorporates Ben's lead line into the playing of Frank's chords.

-VERSE-
               G5
I've got me a shovel
               Em7
I'm digging a ditch
               Gsus4 G5 D/F#
And I'm gonna fight for this four square feet of land like a mean old son-of-a-bitch

               G5
I've got me a future
                      Em7
I'm not stuck on the past
                 Gsus4 G5 D/F#
I've got no new tricks, yeah, I'm up on bricks, but, me, I'm a machine and I was built to last

-CHORUS-
     C D/F# G5
I'm trying to get better 'cause I haven't been my best
           C D/F# Em
She took a plain black marker and started writing on my chest

We can get better
                       G5 (RIFF 1)
Because we're not dead yet

-VERSE-
                 G5
They threw me a whirlwind

I took a battering but I've got thicker skin and the best people I know are looking out for me

So, I'm taking the high road
                              Em

-BRIDGE-
            G/D G/C#
It's just a knot in the small of your back
                   G/C G/A
You can work it out with your fingers

                G/D G/C#
It's just some numbers tangled up in your songs
                   G/C G/A
You can work it out with your fingers

            G/D G/C#
It's just a tune that gets stuck in your head
                   G/C G/A
You can work it out with your fingers

             G/D G/C#
It's just a simple --- missing from the past and your mess
     G/C Am D/F#
A reminder you could always be a little bit better than this

Try and get better and don't ever accept less

Take your plain black marker and write this on your chest
        C D/F#
Draw a line underneath all of this unhappiness
 G5 G/F# Em
Come on now let's fix this mess
            C D/F#
We can get better
                       G5 G/F# Em (RIFF 2 > 3)
Because we're not dead yet

New song; Josephine. I want to cry every time I listen to it. It's heart-breaking.
Also, it REALLY makes me want to learn more about Napoleon!
Enjoy!

Actually quite pissed off, four new tabs were just approved at UG! and this one was denied.. no idea why! Oh, well, I'm re-uploading now!

EDIT: Third time's a charm. Finally up on UG!

I'd gone to be about 20 minutes before you posted this or I would have stayed up to do it -- on it now! :)
The chords are fairly easy but it'll take a little longer to get all the lyrics down, shouldn't take long, though!

EDIT: Here we go! This is Frank's part sans bridge riff, instead I've put the chords that Billy is playing (although hers are different chord shapes but the same chords -- capo 3... wow, that was verbose... yeah, I'm tired.. ha ha)

EDIT NUMBER 2: Here are both parts (again minus Frank's (and Billy's very small) riff-y parts -- I WILL work them out soon! They're not difficult, I just need a little break from tabbing (as you can see I've been busy with Frank's new songs! Ha ha).

G Am C

-VERSE-
G
You cast a shadow like I'd never seen
          Am Em
You're strangely aloof and kind of mean and
            D C
I've doubted everything since you married me

C
Romance and trouble only seventeen
          Am Em
Let's be real for a minute I'm not exactly a Prom Queen
                        D C
I don't know how to be happy I don't know how to leave

-CHORUS-
Am Em C
We bought this house and we had these kids
Am Em C
I don't know whose life this is
                       D Em C
It sure as hell ain't mine

D Am C

-VERSE-
     G
Well I look at you, I don't know who you are
             Am Em
Where'd you get those clothes where'd you lease that car
                         D C
Don't tell the neighbours you ain't got no savings jar

       G
'Cause you'd never know it, but just look at you know
      Am Em
Just wearing those clothes all over town
                             D C
I don't want anything anymore I just want out
