It isn´t 100% accurate but I think it´s close

We shall not overcome
chords:
D7 x-5-4-5-x-x
E7 x-7-6-7-x-x

Code: Select all

intro
The bands I like, they don't sell too many records
And the girls I like, they don't kiss too many boys
Books I read will never be best sellers, yeah
But come on fellas at least we made our choice, hey!

A,E,D

What do we want? E
D
And when do we want it?
A E D
And how would we feel if we knew that we were never gunna get it?
A E
And where did we start from?
D
And where are we going?
A E D
Can anyone here say with any certainty that they know what they're doing?

E D
Ever feel like an awkward understudy thrown into a cast where you just don't get along
E D
Crowd and the crew all standing silent staring and you can't shake the feeling that somehow you're doing it wrong

A,E,D
What do we want?

A,E D
Mum and dad always seem like that had a plan
A E D
Everything fell apart when mum moved on, now dad's a broken man
A E D
And all these decisions that keep getting made
A E D
I can't remember making them and nobody wants to explain

E D
We're all awkward understudies wearing comfortable shoes getting comfortable with doing it wrong
E D
Missed the dress rehearsals and we had to rush a drink before the show but now it's show time and we're singing our song!

A
Because the bands I like, they don't sell too many records
E D
And the girls I like, they don't kiss too many boys
A
Books I read will never be best sellers, yeah
E D
But come on fellas at least we made our choice

E D
But come on fellas at least we made our choice

E A
Be a fan of every band who ever made you want to move your feet
E A D B
Fall along with every person who ever made your heart want to skip a beat
C7
So come on, come on, come on!
D7
What do we want?

We shall not overcome!
A,E,D
We shall not go well!
A,E,D
Hey, hey!
A,E
Because the lives we lead, they will be so very perfect
D
And the plans we make made us serve some kind of purpose
A,E
But the hearts we meet still beat the way they used to
D
If you're doing it wrong, well yeah what you gunna do?
A,E,D
What do we want?

I have a little bit of gene Simmons worked out and working on the way I tend to be (and I will eventually do a correct tell tale signs (other than the bridge) mine is piss poor.

Ill try and flesh them out and tart tabbing them.

Apologies for illegibility; on my iPhone and in a rush.

Gene Simmons - quick aside. On the record I played it in open g. Live I play it in standard tuning. Small differences.
Shows? All of em.

I only have the verse riff and chorus chords worked out so far for Gene Simmons, but here they are to whet you're appetite. Now that I know (courtesy of Frank - thanks again) that Gene Simmons was recorded in Open G, I'll work that out and tab it out, too (this makes sense as I was sure I heard a D hammer on to E on the low E, but had put it down to my hearing due to the rest of the song playing in standard - now I know)

I'm not sure if it's 100% correct, but it seems to be. I will keep at it, though.

I'll also give the chords to the bridge of Anymore which I've had since the Addistock Session came out, I just haven't gotten around to tabbing it out fully. (I don't want it to be as bad as my Tell Tale Signs - which I will fix eventually)

WHEREFORE ART THOU, GENE SIMMONS?

Hey, all. Just something I've been working on. The whole process of listening to the song and tabbing it out took about a half hour. I'm pretty sure it's right, but if you notice any glaring mistakes that my sleep-deprived brain has failed to notice, just hit me up.

I haven't seen this anywhere else online, but I think people will appreciate it :)

Enjoy

I have the verse for Least of All Young Caroline, but the chorus is awkward. It seems to e Em Fm G, G A Bm, D G D with variations involving Em in the outro. But they aren't typical chords so ill have to keep working.

Not sure on the chord names right now; I don't have my files with me but the verse is palm-muted and the two chords are EADGBe - 2x0220 (some kind if A/D/F# lol) and 3x0230 (Dsus2/G)

Ill update when I'm on my computer and I'll do a real tab eventually.
