Scams

Hi everyone.

There have been a couple of cases in the last week or two of people getting scammed through here. I (and my team) have been attempting to track these people down to sort it out (or at least call them a cunt) but unfortunately, it's not looking all that likely that true justice will be served. It's fucking annoying and disappointing that this has happened, especially through here. I guess I can just say, everyone be on their guard, try and ascertain for sure that you're dealing with someone legit when handing over your money.

Sigh.

My advise to all members is to use something such as PayPal to buy tickets off other members and never use direct bank transfers.

Make sure you get the sellers mobile number and full address in advance so you can follow up with them or the Police if there are any issues.

Apologies, appreciate you're frustrated and angry - but posting someone's phone number in this manner could get you, and potentially frank, into a lot of legal trouble, so I've edited it out of your post.

Skhmmxi- It may also help to delete the contact number for P Matthews that some other members posted. Located in Mina's original thread where she was looking for a Winchester ticket.

hmmm not sure what Paypal will do to help, it's not an official ebay transaction, can you prove they didn't send the tickets?

The guy posted his phone number himself so not sure what removing it from other threads will do.

https://www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/buyer-protection

Paypal offers help with transactions that were made using it. If you do a bank transfer - your bank won't try and reclaim the money back for you. Paypal also honours that outside of eBay.

As for removing people's numbers - the guy could if he wanted sue the forum owner for harassment - I have actually seen this done before even though they were in the wrong. I believe legally - the forum is allowed to highlight the usernames of rouge sellers - and advise people to enter transactions at their own risk - but the actual purchase of goods is the buyers own risk.
