Cover versions of your songs?

Post by SusanneD » Tue Jun 16, 2015 6:51 pm

Cover versions have been on my mind recently: the ones you did of songs from other artists and the ones I would like you to do some day :), but the question today is about cover versions of *your* songs. There are quite a few clips of musicians doing a Frank Turner cover on youtube and I know Billy the Kid did a great "Recovery" cover as part of the 31 covers in 31 days. But are there more like that? Ones you espcially liked or even approved of?

And a follow up question: If you could choose one artist to do a cover version of one of your songs: who would that be and which song? Or is that something you don't think or care about?

Frank was gracious enough to give me permission to put a cover of The Ballad of Me and My Friends on my first EP. It's not much, but there are a bunch out there.

I was at this. Was pretty funny as Frank seemed to forget his own song. You can sort of see me squatted down on the left hand side of the stage taking pictures at some point.

It's more the fact that they played it wrong - or just changed it and didn't tell me. For the record.

Hahaha...fair enough...their version is pretty ramshackle.

I've not heard many covers of Franks songs so that was entertaining.
