The Ballad

Post by DazShill » Sat Jan 31, 2015 1:00 pm

Just been listening to The Ballad Of Me and My Friends and was was wondering when people started singing out loud the lines "we're definitely going to hell,we'll have all the best stories to tell. Was it early on or has it evolved over time ? Also can you remember the first time it happened ?

I taught the crowd to do it the first time I played it in the UK, at the Barfly, where we recorded it for the album. the singalong is part of the song, as i see it.
Shows? All of em.

I still maintain its my beautiful backing vocals that make that track on the album.

My roommate raised a good question this morning: What if you're not allowed to tell stories in hell?

Thanks for that, hearing the rawer version is great as a comparison to the final version on the album. It's also interesting to see footage of Frank before he had decided on what his face was going to look like.

I believe TFTK was a kind of response to the Beans track 'I Shot Tupac Shakur And All I Got Was This Lousy T-Shirt' - I think
