I've seen the arctic monkeys on every album tour thus far, and I've finally come to the conclusion they're simply not very good live. Shame, I love them on CD.

I don't want to hijack the thread too dramatically, but (obviously) I disagree. Though I didn't see them in the first three eras, so I can't comment on that. But lots this one. Very different experience than a Frank show, of course, but every time I see them they sound tremendous. Not going to go into detail though; I only brought them up from a setlist standpoint ... that they don't vary it much, and I still enjoy it night after night ... that's all.

I have the solution. I am going to start a frank turner cover band called 'Daniel Parsons and the insomniacs'

We will only play the first frank album and b sides.

We will tour in the venues frank played in his first three years only.

I think I preferred your previous cover band, A Thousand Slightly Bruised. Will you be playing any of those songs? I don't know if I'll come otherwise. Will you be reforming it soon? Why did you break up? You should tour with that band again, I couldn't be bothered to come and see you before, but now I need to.

At the risk of the health of my non-existent balls, and being banned for life from the forum......I'll just add that if you want to read some serious setlist whining, head on over to that guy's fan forum. Every show gets analyzed in real time, while the show is happening. They usually rip him to pieces for his song choices. And those sign requests at the shows? I've actually seen signs asking that he not play certain songs (usually Sunny Day). Let's all imagine the well-deserved tongue-lashing Frank would give someone with a sign like that at his show.

oh, setlists! Fun times!

I know Ms Benz from the Muse forums, where we used to have a right laugh tracking the setlists live via twitter, I helped out with that, before instagram seemed to take over and you can't do lists on instagram... and yeah if you want to see setlist beef, that's a dead cert place to find it. Oh and the frog chorus, love it to bits. Specially the video.

Dear Frank. Play whatever the fuck you want. Especially the frog song though.

Ah yeah ... I used to really enjoy those, until the beef got to be a bit too much for me! Especially seemed silly when coming back from a tremendous show and seeing people who weren't even at it were having a conniption fit over how they didn't like the setlist ha.

This is going to sound terrible, but I have seen ft live three times in the past twelve months but I can't recall any of the set lists played. Guess I just get busy having fun, does this make me a bad person? However will now be disappointed if they don't play the frog song at the Cornex.

I don't think this is terrible at all ... maybe just normal, haha. I tend to save and track setlists obsessively, but I tend to obsessively track a lot of things (e.g., I have fuel receipts for every tank of fuel I have put in my car since 2005, save a couple that go swiped or lost). I like making lists, counting stuff, etc. ... OCD. Though even then, right after a show I don't remember everything, all kind of a rush!

I feel I should admit at this point I didn't have any idea what this frog song was until Googling it now. Uh.

Setlists are always hard to get right and I think Frank does it right, he has his staples that are his most popular songs and then he rotates around some more popular songs and throws in some rarities here and there.

It's definitely better than bands who play the same set every night and barely even change it from tour to tour. Plus I could see Prufrock and I Am Disappeared every time I go see Frank for the rest of my life and not get bored. It's impossible to please everyone with every song so you might as well pick the songs most likely to please the most people and throw in a few treats here and there for those who do show up every night.
