Ever leave the stage mid show and hit the bar?

Post by JerseyGirl » Sun May 04, 2014 6:07 pm

I went to see Springsteen and his E Street Band with the Mimi horns in Tampa the other night. I was in the pit and left durning Pay Me My Money Down to take a bathroom break- my 23 year old son held my spot.

As I exited the ladies room, there was a loud group of guys who went up to the bar and they bought one guy a shot and they then headed back to the pit area- I thought it was a bachelor party since they left a Springsteen show to go do one shot! I followed them back to the pit but thats when security stopped me from going up to the stage with them- it was Bruce and the horns!!!

Ever do anything similar??

PS- the shot was tequilla.

Or how about a pee break? Bruce did that once in '93 and people are *still* talking about it. The video is pretty funny.

Or what about jump off the stage and go down to the barrier? I've seen Bruce do that too.

Bruce told the crowd that this was a first!

I can imagine doing that at a smaller venue, I've seen Bruce in bars, but in front of 20,000 people? I was right there looking at the horns and hearing them but it truly did not register in my mind that that was Bruce and the horns at the bar. I am still laughing!

When I saw the Pogues several years ago, Shane MacGowan was helped off the stage by a roadie about every 3 songs for a fag and a no doubt a drink too. That's the smoking ban for you...

Oh wow, how cool is that? He gave the microphone to a 27 year oldish guy wearing a ripped shirt and a red headband- ala Bruce 1985 during Born to Run in Lauderdale last Tuesday. It was cool for all of us and an insane moment for the clever kid!

Haha that sounds awesome! Normally he picks some cute little kid at the front to sing 'waiting on a sunny day' with him, yeah well there weren't any cute little kids there... So he picked me, then a 5' 9" 13 year old kid, who's voice had just dropped, so it didn't sound wonderful... But still pretty cool none the less

Nearly every show I saw when Frank was starting out he managed to get drinks delivered to him whilst on stage.

A great way to get free drinks and not have to leave.

Christ, I drunkenly brought him up a drink in Kilkenny a few years back, there were maybe 25 people at the gig, I was sh1tfaced from Pre-drinking all day and thought it was a great idea.... he looked at me with look of "dick" :D

that allows me to brag about seeing him in front of 25 people and buying him a drink (even if he didn't actually want it), points on my bingo card :D
I'd rather be the one who loves than to be loved and never even know.

I was at that Kilkenny gig. Lovely venue and a great version of "Don't think twice it's alright" with the support act doing the harmonica.
Don't remember the drunk bringing up whiskey. Don't they say you only remember the good stuff after some time…?
