Can anyone tab Longing For The Day? I'm trying but struggling.

It's like Dm-Am-Em-D with a capo on 4 or something, except not.

it's in E actually, no capo. the first chord is a weird one, it's like a diminished Eb or something. then Db minor, Ab minor, Gb minor, A, E, Gb, B7. um, what?

Thanks. Me and my friend spent ages working it out before thinking to check back on this thread, haha. I'm assuming that's just the verse bit, don't 'spose you'd be able to post the chords for the bridge and chorus? And middle 8... :|

skhmmi wrote:If technology is far enough advanced that Pro Tools can make someone who is tone deaf sound pitch perfect after post-production, why is there not yet a piece of software you can simply feed guitar music into and get instant tabs out?

Is there something I'm missing? Does it already exist?
There are some pieces of software that do exactly this, but the accuracy varies a lot.

I've been trying out Transcribe! There are some rather similar applications as well, but Transcribe! has a native Linux version, which is a big plus.

Also there are programs which 'convert' music files(mp3,wma etc) into midi files but, i would have to say, all the free downloads are complete rubbish. i haven't bought one either so i don't actually know if they work

They're all rubbish, because doing such a thing is incredibly difficult. MIDI doesn't store any sound, only 'performance data', it would have to figure out what note is being played, how long for, how loud it is etc etc. Having more than one instrument, or even more than one note played at the same time is incredibly difficult for computers to pick apart.

edit: I just realised what thread this is, and how this has already probably been said. Duh.

Whilst trying to write a song today I think I've worked out 'The Outdoor Type'
Verse/ Chorus

G F# Em x2
C D G F# Em C D C G

Bridge

B7 C D

Only discovered this after starting to write the melody. Damn you Lemonheads

Hold your tongue

Been pretty since the day you were born, so the roots of your beautiful hair drew all the water that your body could hold, so when your soul needed water, no water was there.

You shed words like so much dead skin. Gather up like dust against walls. Kicked up when someone came in. So if they're looking for something they find nothing at all.

So hold your god damn tongue. You forget yourself. How could I be the one if you're wrapped round someone else?

And I really don't know which feels worse, to be a fool, or be with a liar. I just know that a heart once soaked and cursed is that much harder to set on fire. But, I won't let this die, 'til I have seen you cry a single tear to show there's water in your soul.

That's from memory so it might not be 100%.

If you could tab it for ukulele that'd be great ;)

This is just from what I've picked up of Achillies' Lung. Frank has "forgotten it" apparently

Verse

G, D, Cadd9, E

Chorus

F, G, F, G

Bridge
?

Thats all I've been able to pick up. Enjoy!!!
