Your Shows
Hey Frank I love your shows they are brilliant but just some suggestions.
You always say your shows are meant to involve the audience, that they should sing along. To make your gig's to involve the audience more why not invite someone onto the stage, I haven't seen you do this and i think it would be great a make a fan so happy and generally make the show more exciting.
Also, I was at your show at Brixton Academy when you were supporting Greenday, I was one of the only people singing and everyone was looking at me oddly but that was an amazing show. You did acoustic versions of your song with help from Matt and I really loved it! Maybe you could think of doing a few gigs acoustically (if that's a word?!) It was a great show and seeing you again at reading in the wheelchair was hilarious. I too love Nirvana and I loved that it was a tribute to them.
Again i'm not criticizing your show as you are the best artist I have seen live just some suggestion.
Cheers,
Joe

Re: Your Shows
No offense intended, but God, that would fucking annoy me at a show. Hated it at the Green Day show and a Revival Tour show (and those were kids) I saw. I'll sound like a bigger bitch if I keep elaborating, but I just find it tedious and distracting.daycrist wrote:You always say your shows are meant to involve the audience, that they should sing along. shows? 90 so far...
Re: Your Shows
Really?! I'v seen GreenDay 4 times and every time they have done it the whole crowd gets excited and it would be the best thing in the world if you were picked it would be my dream'

Re: Your Shows
What I want is a full-band performance along the lines of the Foo Fighter's All My Life cover: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTG70iV7Frc. Nigel slapping himself silly is just awesome beyond words.
And I think the Dan's Song thing stopped because it became too well known that he did that, and people were not reacting well to not being picked. Inviting people on stage would pause the show for too long and probably take something away from the energy of the show.

Mmmmm yeah I'd love that - you just reminded me I need to check the covers list and make sure I added whatever the last one was - after I get some sleep, sometime this century

and yep - he said in that last link I posted that he dosn't want to get kicked in the balls

Re: Your Shows
Thank you for that amazing link from Vienna, Bella! Next time I see Frank perform Dan's Song I will definitely be rocking my air harmonica.

Re: Your Shows
Hi Frank, I have a suggestion-please can you start wearing a hat on stage again? I think it would really improve the show. If you, a professional musician, need any more tips from someone like me on a forum then just send me a private message. Many thanks.

Re: Your Shows
I would love another solo tour. As much as I love seeing The Sleeping Souls, I miss the mixture of solo and full band gigs that we used to get.
Re: Your Shows
bringing people up on stage actually kind of breaks the spell for me. it makes one person in the crowd different from the rest. we used to do it, but it didn't work for me somehow in the end.
Shows? All of em.

Not going to aim for a Dropkicks "see how many people we can get onstage for the final song" thing?frank wrote:bringing people up on stage actually kind of breaks the spell for me. it makes one person in the crowd different from the rest. we used to do it, but it didn't work for me somehow in the end.

Re: Your Shows
He did at the Brooklyn Bowl in 2010. It was a brilliant gig. Someone stood on the guitar lead and cut it out for a few moments.
