Venomous_Bear wrote:Frank, just an FYI: I know you're bummed about cancelling shiz. But tonight, we are playing your tracks in the ONLY privately licensed bar in Mauritania. We don't play just anyone, see. We only get one glorious night in the bar a week. I'm sure it's not much consolation, but at least you're gaining fans in the heart of the Sahara!
That is cool! (Must admit I had to google Mauritania) Have fun spreading the word.

I've not had a recent x ray - but when I had my MRI 3 years ago it showed 3 of my vertebrae were disintegrated.

Constant pain forever more.
ohh my discs are on the way there. also have some spinal stenosis going on so my nerves are freaking out cause theyre constantly being crushed, thats fun. pain forever more sounds about right! we can be the broken gang, we'll get tshirts done

Good lord, friends, that's terrible! Disc degeneration/disintegration is something I have only ever experienced in a "why won't my CD play without skipping" sense...I do know that there are a ton of advancements coming within the next decade for such issues, but that's hardly comforting when you're in pain now. Let's hope they speed this shit up and find you guys some relief.

And Darlene! Don't even worry about it, haha, there's nothing here of note, except sand, and apparently alcohol (I certainly found that). I don't mean any disrespect when I say that, it's just it's not really a place known for anything other than mining and one really cool geological feature that I will not bore you with. It has an interesting colonial history, but a bad rep in terms of other things (which I will not mention whilst in-country...*cough cough wikipedia cough*). But at least, for tonight, it was an FTHC hub. We danced and shouted and swayed, and for a few minutes, the gloriousness of being alive overshadowed the reality of being stuck in the perpetual monotony of...desert. Frank earned some fans from Spain, Scotland, Canada, Chile and Morocco. Huzzah!

In other news, feeling slightly unfulfilled in life, now that I have returned from the bar. Have drunk Bailey's and worn shoes, but have never combined the two ideas. Have followed Bootsy Collins on Twitter, because why not.

Pick me, pick me! If falling over randomly and taking an hour to get out of bed in the morning gets me a t-shirt, then it's so worth it! /sarcasm

I'm putting off my surgery cause it's got such a massive failure rate. I need to have my spine fused for my unstable scoliosis, which leads to the aforementioned spinal stenosis, which means occasionally my whole leg stops and boom.

Yikes! Sorry to hear about anyone with chronic pain. When are we going to reach the Star Trek era, where McCoy just waves his tricorder for a second to figure out what's wrong, and then magically makes it all better?

Yeah, not with him. ;)

My support group is FT, JL&TSS, Black Flag and alcohol in some quantity. All of these make me feel better.

Frank Turner ‏@frankturner 6h
Another day of physiotherapy and sports massage. Ow. But I'm on the mend, slowly.

Sounds good in my opinion :) Looks like the tour won't be cancelled then...

My friend just texted me from Reading - apparently Frank was pushed on stage by his mum on a wheelchair. Then he got up and he was fine.
