Ticket Print Question For Fellow Concert Goers...

Post by Shwee » Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:07 am

I ordered a concert ticket online and had a friend print it out for me and she printed the ticket out twice "just to make sure". Will this have any effect on them scanning my ticket at the door? Is one of them valid and one not? Basically I need to know if I have to bring both tickets, or if printing them out twice somehow voided my ticket. Just making sure I don't run into any problems and have to order another ticket.

Most likely a stupid question, sorry lol.

Once the ticket has been scanned it gets checked off in the database and the copy will be invalid. It's the amount of times it's scanned that's important, not the amount of times it's printed.

A barcode is just text that a computer can read easily, so you can think of it as just text in a different font that doesn't make much sense to humans (sort of like Wingdings). You'll notice that almost all barcodes come with numbers/letters printed below them, and that is literally just the text contained in a barcode in case it becomes unscannable and needs to be entered manually.

So when you buy an e-ticket with a barcode on it, essentially you're buying a one-use password.
