I'm sure it is not my place to make a suggestions, but hell that has never stopped me before.
Your song about Thatcher, you know the one. Well as an American born , bred, and nearly convinced citizen I would like to relay that when I sing along drunkenly with that tune, I have some how unconsciously replaced the name Thatcher with Reagan.
I guess in a way I am making a backdoor request,I am American after all, can you replace Thatcher with Reagan for a few shows.
Oh hell whatever you play will make me happy.
Leave it as this, Thank you Frank. Keep on spreading the love.

I'll be in Montreal and Boston hint hint!

He hasn't played that one in years. I believe it was in protest to the fact the narrative was co-opted and turned into a specific political message as opposed to a general disappointment with the politics of the 80s - which is fair enough, but obviously not what was intended.

Why don’t you play “Thatcher Fucked The Kids” any more?
I got bored of the song, and more specifically, I got bored of the tedious political associations that came with it. Sorry.

I seem to have a vague (or incorrect?) memory of him including Reagan in the song when played in America possibly?

Either way, he doesn't play it anymore since becoming a Conservative grassroots campaigner.

I have an mp3 of him playing it somewhere in the US and substituting Thatcher for Regan at least once

Sorry, tired subject, just thought I'd come out and ask to be clear....you say you're tired of the political associations involved which is totally fair, but would you go so far as to say you actually no longer believe the sentiments of the song?

edit: thats not meant to sound like I think its a bad thing if youve changed your mind...

I've figured out how to kill this song off:

Transfer the entire rights, for free, to the Conservative party.

You can guarantee that neither they nor their supporters would ever play it. Anyone else who chooses to use the song for an anthem wouldn't play it either, or they'd have to pay royalties to the Conservatives for the privilege.

You're welcome. :)

haha, good idea shkmmxi. uh, i think i'd say that the analysis in the song (such as it is) is pretty childish.
