It's ok everyone, don't panic. It just arrived.

The presentation of this album (deluxe) is so good. I'd buy way more albums if they were like this.

This. But with NBD and Wessex Boy chucked in for good measure.

Can't wait to see One Foot Before the Other live too, anticipating getting kicked to shit down at the front - awesome.

Just seen a copy of the deluxe version in the Big Cheese office. It looks and feels absolutely brilliant, really well put together. If people still want to sell CDs they've got to start putting out things like this all the time in my opinion.

MY CD ARRIVED, HELL YEAH!

Now I can join in, the packaging is bloody brilliant and how Balthazar Impresario didn't make the album I do not know.

You have an awesome Nan.

And my stepmum has far from good taste.

Exactly this! really moving song actually.

Also I started singing I still believe in my year room yesterday and one of the 3 Frank Turner fans in my sixth form herd me and I could hear a faint "I still believe" reply and a nod of acknowledgment as my friends next to me continued to look at me like I was mental.

I've had the whole album on repeat where ever i go since it came out. This is the music that is made to survive, Frank's gonna leave one hell of a footprint on this world.

dum de dum.

Huzzah for Royal Mail!

Post by ToTheWest » Sat Jun 11, 2011 3:34 am

Much to my surprise (after an e-mail that said the expected delivery date was 27 June), my CD arrived in a nice earth-friendly package from Amazon UK/today! So I suppose Royal Mail's strategy is to set up overseas customers with low expectations so that we'll end up being pleasantly surprised when our parcels arrive ahead of schedule--and, at this point, I'm liking this angle! :-)

I already know all the songs (save "Wanderlust") from the stream and YouTube, but--with apologies to the dead cow--I love the packaging. The hand-written annotations are rather awesome, especially the brackets, which seem to me a charmingly flippant way of saying, "It's none of your business whom this person is!"

I also found it slightly amusing/embarrassing to discover that, in all my countless times listening to "I Am Disappeared" pre-album release, I fully thought the lyric was "I keep having dreams of things I need to / of waking up and NOT following through". That would be my guilty conscience speaking to me, as I'm actually meant to be working on a massive project RIGHT NOW that I've been putting off for months. On THAT note... enough outta me!
Brevity is not my forte.

Amazing. Although this does result in my outing myself as a dating website user, there's currently an EKMB advert banner on okcupid. Incredible, target all the lonely hearts, good call!

Just listened to the bonus tracks for the first time, as I'd been saving them so I had more new songs to look forward to. Eva Mae is such a lovely song, what a great way to commemorate the start of a life.

With regards to the 'flow' of the album, I think the only change I might have made would be to put an acoustic song after English Curse. One Foot... is so different to the previous song that it's a bit disorienting, though I'm guessing that was intentional.

The lyric book on Nights Become Days are a little bit wrong, I dunno whether they were cut out because of what Frank handwrote underneath them, but the lyric book says "So come down kid, the roof's safe now" when the song says the roof's not safe now..and then the last line of the song isn't printed. Maybe it's some intentional artistic cool thingy I'm completely ignoring.
