Byron Bay Bluesfest 2015 and Side Shows

Post by stevegd » Thu Sep 25, 2014 4:57 am

Hi,

Delighted that Frank Turner and The Sleeping Souls have been included in the 1st announcement for next years Bluesfest. I am hoping that I will also be able to catch a Side Show or 2, heading to Byron Bay for the Fest and will be in Melbourne the weekend after before returning to WA so I'm hoping for a couple of East Coast shows in those 10 days or so.

Any other FT fans in Australia? and if so, fancy meeting up?

Cheers, Steve.

Hi Steve, I just noticed that the West Coast Blues and Roots is just a few days before Byron, nothing in the first announcement, but wondering if there will be a second announcement...now THAT would be awesome as I can't make Byron :(

Hi Jackie, seems like that may be close to the full line up for 'West Coast' with just local acts left to go.

I would have had to take more time off work and fly back from the Pilbarra for that so I am now banking on catching side shows out East, with the vague hope that a Perth show may fit my flights to and from Bluesfest as I have some mates in Perth I would really dig seeing FT&SS with.

Maybe see you at a sideshow,

Cheers, Steve.

I'm heading up to Bluesfest next week, but I reckon that I need to catch the Sydney sideshow as well.

Heya - I'm heading to the Canberra show this Friday. Would love to have seen the Bluesfest gig and the one in Newcastle (my hometown), but Canberra's it for me.

Anyone else here going to be at the Basement on Friday?

Outstanding gig in Perth at The Amplifier Bar last night - glad I got a pass out from the old folks home to attend - glad to be the fly in your ointment as far as your demographic goes FT! :D

I did all 11 shows, and it was a blast.

Pretty sure I met you, though, kevhwaker?

The set at Bluesfest was great. Hopefully it won't be too long until I get to catch a full length show.

Hi Steve and Steve's wife! :)

Literally meeting so many awesome people and paying kindness forward in the form of helping out travellers was the best part of the whole trip for me.

I have never seen so many, many excited, happy British backpackers in all my life.

Would do it again in a heartbeat. Might, if he turns up next year. :)
