Red Rocks and KC Crossroads

Post by DaveK » Wed Feb 05, 2014 7:05 pm

Just saw a FB post from Frank about a June 6th gig at Red Rocks and a June 7th gig in Kansas City at Crossroads. Sure wish I had the time and money to make it to Red Rocks. I've always wanted to see a concert there. Looks like he's opening for The John Butler Trio. I can almost guarantee that the majority of the crowd will be there to see Frank. John Butler Trio is not that big over here in the states.

Yeah they've booked Red Rocks as headliner, I'd imagine they're planning on selling it out. We're the support.
Shows? All of em.

Oh, must be just out here on the East Coast then. Not a group that you hear a lot of (I've never heard of them actually). Looking forward to sampling them though....

So do I have this right.. Frank and Matt are OPENING for the John Butler Trio?

I'm hoping so and its not just playing in their band since its not really my scene.

I was just about to get tickets and then saw that Frank was only the support. Don't get me wrong first few times I saw Frank and the only reason I know him was seeing him supporting other bands. But I've grown accustom to him as a headliner, even as a solo, and not sure if I want to go to a show where I see the opening act and then head out afterwards. Any idea how long his set list is actually going to be?

Don't head out. It's an opportunity to see something new. John Butler is fantastic.

I would love to know how long Frank's set is going to be in Red Rocks. I want to fly out there to check it out but dont want to be dissappointed if its 5 songs. Shit i was about to book my flight out there when im glad i checked the ticket prices and noticed he was the opener. I did see Frank open up for Social D and if I remember correctly it was a lengthy set for an opener.
