December Dates (Scotland, Wales, Ireland)

Post by snare » Sat Sep 01, 2012 11:54 am

Is anyone heading to any of these solo dates?

I'm flying to Dublin, as Frank has given me an excuse to finally visit!
Nothing better than a good small solo gig!

Doing Cork, Galway and Dublin (sorry Belfast)

Got tickets booked and accommodation for Cork and Galway both confirmed, and checked out bus timetables and prices - am I over organized I wonder??

well since i live in Bangor (Wales) it'd be rude not to!
The only thing is, my son (7yo) is a HUGE fan of Frank's, obviously too young to get in to the gig, so i can never ever mention that Frank even came to Bangor, let alone saw him play :( am i a bad dad lol?!

Haha. Of course not. If he's a huge FT fan already, you're on the right track. But out of curiosity, are there laws in your country about kids in bars? Because, I would think if you were out of the way of harm, he would have a great time (but probably not you so much though). In the US for sure, there are more disturbing things for kids to see in video games than at a pub show. Have fun!

Aww, not all ages? too bad. I have "persuaded" doormen to let my teen (actually 12 year old) in, but not a youngster. Good luck!

I'm going to Bangor, i was going to go to Galway, but prices and the fact i know people in bangor to stay with means, it's so much more logistical, tiny solo show, just before christmas? happy days.

Is anyone else going to Belfast? I've not booked anything yet as I've got to wait for my boss to confirm I can have that time off and she is on holiday at the moment (ARGH!) and as its not a straight holiday, no one else can confirm it. I've gotta hope that tickets for that and Dublin aren't close to selling out yet.

Dublin is getting close, that said, if you are going, I'll likely have a spare. I bought two, but am not that hopeful about finding a buddy willing to go and actually really push to the front and enjoy. So if you can't get one gimme a shout and you can have it. :) Won't even be saying it to a buddy til 2 weeks before, so let me know. I'd rather it go to someone who'll really enjoy it. :)

Now, I posted this already in the other thread... but screw it, this guy expanded my music wildly, so, I'm gonna do something for him. And it's not technically shilling...

Now, I normally don't shill, in fact I hate it, but this isn't technically shilling...read and you will understand.

We all know that Jim Lockey is supporting Frank for the Irish dates in December, what we all may not know is that there is another support.

His name is Sean Riddick, he's actually the person that introduced me to Franks music by accident when he posted a link on a forum we both used at the time to Prufrock saying it's the perfect song to drive with the top down on a convertible on a sunny day, it really really is. But yeah, anyway, he's a Dub I think, I barely know him personally, met him once while absolutely HAMMERED with a mutual friend, he seemed like good people.

So yeah, get to the gigs early if you are going and check him out, he's pretty fooking decent, and the song I'm about to link has a Bad Religion reference, that's always a good thing :D

Just for his Frank recruiting ability you should check him out :) Directly, he got me and at least a few more, indirectly he got over 40. (10+ through me, guessing about the other 30)
I'd rather be the one who loves than to be loved and never even know.

I posted that over a month ago. I'm all sorted now, apart from looking at getting between Belfast and Dublin (any tips anyone?)
