Not a bad review, but I don't agree about Dan le Sac vs Scroobius Pip. I'm pretty sure he only read the lyrics from a book for the last two songs, which was a theatrical gesture to make it look like he was reading from scripture (the songs were both religiously based).

I think he should of committed more. Nothing worse than a half hearted theatrical act

I really enjoyed them, and went home and bought their album... Each to their own.

I loved Dan le Sac vs Scroobius Pip, they were my favourite support act of the night. I didn't think much to Billy Bragg.

I loved them!

The "reading" from the book is part of the show. He did the same thing during the 2000 Trees set last year.

Yup, I only caught their last few songs but infinitely more enjoyable than Billy Bragg for me. Really liked them and only laziness has prevented me getting some of their music since.

And... Err... I think / hope you might have got this expression a tad incorrect:
I annoyingly missed Beans on Toast and his honest, no holes barred acoustic social commentary
I too missed Jay, but his act will have needed to have changed to something very different from my last experience of his live shows if this is correct...

I don't think the reviewer really understood DLS v SP style or what they are all about. And failed to reverberate? WHAT? I mean, maybe if you were at the back, but if you were right at the back you were unfashionably late to the party anyway.

While I won't pretend to know everything that's going on in their heads, it seems to me that however erratic it seems, everything Scroob does is meticulous and planned.
I'd rather be the one who loves than to be loved and never even know.
