in 2004 i went to 7 gigs in a row, so thats 1 a day in a week.

after that i decided i wanted to try and do at least a gig a week for a year.

so in 2005 i set about having that as my new years challenge. it was quite hard - the rules were at least one gig between a monday and sunday for 52 weeks in a row. i am pleased to say i acheived this and in the end went to 63 different gigs that year.

it was actually not as easy as you might think - i even managed to work holidays etc around gigs and went to gigs abroad to complete the challenge.
I also used to count when I first moved to London. I did 56 the first year, 68 the second, and 89 the third. I stopped counting after that. My record is 18 in 22 days (13 in a row) in 1998. It nearly killed me.

Wouldn't surprise me at all. I used to see him at fucking everything.

I cant physically do that many shows anymore, but to be fair, I used to be king blag back then so I was able to get into a lot of those for free, other wise I never would have managed it

I know I won't do all of them but I can't decide which to drop.

24/10 - Mogwai (Hammersmith Apollo)
25/10 - Cats and cats and cats (The Windmill)
26/10 - Choice of two different friends gigs, Superman Revenge Squad (The Good Ship) or Heck Tate (the Water Rats).
27/10 - The Bronx (KCLSU)
28/10 - Pulled Apart By Horses (Buffalo Bar)
29/10 - Frank Turner (The Scala)
30/10 - Maybeshewill & This Town Needs Guns (The Good Ship)

Why do all good gigs have to group themselved together.

I will be wrecked if I do all 7 days and work, so I need to drop something.
you MUST go and see mogwai, they were unbelievable last night in edinburgh. as were fuck buttons.

i saw fuck buttons at truck festival last year.. and from what i remember their entire set melted into one half hour long track. it was a good electro-y melt but.. there wasn't really much differentiation between the tracks. or is that the point?

gigs for me?

26/10 seth lakeman - cambridge
28/10 frank turner - bristol
02/11 bellowhead - bristol
i do not have this "sig" you speak of..

I'm definatly not missing Mogwai as I have tickets. Mogwai, cats x3, The Bronx and Maybeshewill are the definates.

I will probably be missing by friends gigs on the the Sunday as I've seen them numerous times, although I'm likely to be talked into it at some point.

I've just realised on Tuesday it is Palace vs Forest, and I have a season ticket so I'm probably missing Pulled Apart By Horses.

I can't believe i'm saying this, but I'm likeley to miss Frank as I've seen him live 15 or so times already. So I think I can get away with missing that one. Plus I've not got around to getting tickets yet.

i think i'm yr scottish equivalant. no guest list in glasgow went unraped for a long time. i used to go to at least 3 a week for a few years but then work and my own gigs took over. the only bad thing is when you end up seeing a band you hate loads your there to see someone else. i have seen papa roach three times. unhappy.
Listen, do you smell something?

I'm going to turn up to the Rancid gig in full MCR merch with my goth make up on and follow you around the place announcing really loudly that you're my best friend, Evan...

Uh huh...that is the emptiest threat I have ever heard. You are far too vain to actually do that, plus it's hardly going to be difficult to ditch you.
