Thought I'd make sure Frightened Rabbit fans in the D.C. area know they'll be at the 9:30 Club May 8th.

Haha, totally missed them. Met so many people at the show.

Austin Lucas played in our venue last night. Let him sign my spit 7" and really enjoyed his set.

I went to L.A. to catch two shows of "The River" tour. Though I always liked it well enough, it was never my favourite Bruce album. Hearing it live surpassed all expectations. I guess the fact that they are into the third month of the tour has really made the songs grow. Highlights for me were 'Point blank', 'I wanna marry you' (lovely new intro on which Bruce and Steve duet) and, surprisingly, 'Crush on you'.
When the 'River' part was over they played for another hour and a half. Un-be-lie-va-ble. There is no one like him.

Yup, but as I don't wanna sell it anyway, it's fine for me :)

Just came back from a Bad Ideas/The Lion And The Wolf show. Really wanna see Tom playing anytime soon. Wonderful show!

I was at Glastonbury. There was actually a photo of Frank in the festival program, on the Leftfield page, from last year's radical roundup with Billy Bragg. It was a tough year for getting around the site, due to the mud, even though there wasn't that much rain during the festival. Managed to see loads all the same. Highlights were:

1. P J Harvey; 2. Sharon Shannon; 3. Beans On Toast; 4. Hothouse Flowers; 5. Cyndi Lauper; 6. DakhaBrakha; 7. Tom Robinson; 8. Patty Griffin; 9. Billy Bragg's radical roundup featuring Will Varley, Emily Cappell, Lewis & Leigh; 10. Sona Jobarteh; 11. Joanne Shaw Taylor; 12. The Alarm; 13. She Drew The Gun; 14. Ernest Ranglin; 15. Underworld.

Biggest disappointment: New Order.

Went to Glasgow to see Bruce Springsteen the other week. He was brilliant. Hampden isn't good for a gig though.

No big plans in the future so far. Biffy Clyro in Glasgow and Belladrum festival.

Party at the Place(Linlithgow) and maybe the 80s Rewind festival are on the cards. Not sure I could live through Rewind again.

I'll have to get my finger out and get to some real gigs.

The other music related incident I've been to recently was the Brewdog AGM. It's been a while since I was on.

What a cracking day with brilliant music.

Hunter and the Bear, Idlewild and Frightened Rabbit were all brilliant.

Next year a little birdy has told me that the AGM will move from the AECC to Aberdeen FC's football stadium. So it's going to be a huge event.

There was a thread on the shareholder's forum and Frank pulled a lot of interest. I was the first right enough!.

Maybe, just maybe.......

Finally saw Apologies, I Have None & Boysetsfire again last saturday - at a festival, where Frank was playing as well, and god damn. Boysetsfire played a wonderful festival set. Happy I was able to catch them before their next "break" :) Also super happy to see AIHN again after two years. God, I missed those guys.

Next up: Rammstein :D

Seeing Paul McCartney on Tuesday, super excited as it's always a treat seeing him.
Then going up to NYC (well, NJ) for Coldplay next Sunday ... very emotional about that, they were the band that made me really fall in love with music. Their first three albums resonated with me more than recent ones, but I'm excited to hear all of it. Hard to believe it's been almost 16 years since I first heard them ... I'm really glad I still have them around. Also seeing them in Philly in early Aug.
Flying (the horror) to Denver to see The National at Red Rocks at the end of July. Really want to see a show there and I love them, so seemed like a perfect chance.
That's about all. I was going to go to Cleveland for The Last Shadow Puppets but had to cancel that plan. Really hoping I can save enough to go to see David Gilmour at the Royal Albert Hall in September ... talk about a bucket list item. And I'm waiting for Tom Chaplin to hopefully announce some dates for his solo stuff ... would really love to hear that voice again.
