Vaccines were great at Gentlemen of the Road. I debated whether or not to see them Sunday at 9:30 Club but it didn't work out. I've seen them a few times and am also enjoying the new album. Planning to see The Maccabees at U Street Theater this Saturday. Looking forward to seeing them as headliners rather than support!

Saw Imagine Dragons Friday in St. Louis. The lead singer pulled my daughter up on stage. https://www.facebook.com/grace.katherin ... nref=story About one minute in...

I am so pleased that Glastonbury wasn't a non-Frank gig this year. I was at the Other Stage and Leftfield gigs and they were fantastic.

Other highlights of the weekend for me were Patti Smith, the Waterboys, the Who (I opted for them in the end and am glad I did; watched from the Pyramid pit where the atmosphere was great), Suede (had forgotten how much I liked them), John Fairhurst, the Libertines, Florence and the Machine, Wilko Johnson, Marc O'Reilly, Beans On Toast, Motörhead (I skipped Frank at Strummerville to see them).

A late report, but a couple weeks ago I did Firefly Festival in Delaware. I waffled on this forever due to cost but ultimately decided I'd be a total idiot to pass up a chance to see Paul McCartney in my home state. Going was a great decision for Paul's set alone, everything else was icing on the cake. The Beatles (Yellow Submarine specifically) were one of my first obsessions, when I was in first grade or so, so needless to say it was an emotional event. Basically 2.5 hours of pure joy, don't know if I've ever smiled so damn much during a gig. Also got to see The Killers for the first time, kind of a bucket list band for me. Bastille were amazing as usual, as well as Cage The Elephant. Morrissey, I was really glad to see, is he ever talented ... can't say he exactly exuded warm fuzzies, but that's what I expected. Beautiful voice and songs. Also saw Cold War Kids, Manchester Orchestra, The Kooks, Matt and Kim, Spoon, Jungle and Cathedrals. Got to do it all with a great friend I hadn't seen in ages ... well worth it on a whole.
Up next: Just bought a pass to see Roger Waters do a solo set at Newport Folk Fest in Rhode Island. Banner year for tiny states as far as hosting rock legends go. Not sure if he'll do Floyd stuff or his own ... either way I'm thrilled.

I'm one state over. The in-laws have a place about 25 min. out of Rehoboth. Do you all still have the Bob Marley Fest there?
Relax. This won't hurt.

Just finished a two night stand with AC/DC (and Vintage Trouble) in Glasgow and Dublin. Hopefully this will not be their final bow...

I am double pissed I missed out on tickets for the Wembley gig. I just didn't have the cash at the time, and there is no way I am buying via the secondary market. I have only ever managed to see them once, and it was most enjoyable

I'm pretty sure we do, at the Wilmington Riverfront. I've never been to that one, looks like a lot of fun though.

There appears to be pitch standing tickets on sale right now, Evan, via ticketbastard. They did this for the Dublin gig as well, released some tickets very late to try and beat the touts.

They've still got it, you owe it to yourself to go.

** EDIT ** OK, I tried to go through the process, but it's not letting me buy, so I may have jumped the gun, sorry.

Veruca Salt has re-formed. Has anyone else noticed such a delicious disturbance in the force. They're playing the 9:30. I'll be at the beach.

I think you can listen to the whole unreleased CD here.

My daughter is 17 and CERTAINLY marches to her own beat. We blame it on the fact that she went to a VS concert in utero. :D

Both Dylan and Ellie were at lots of Frank gigs in utero so no idea how they will turn out.

Ended up seeing Imagine Dragons again -- this time in Nashville. In Kansas City we had The Moth and the Flame. Went to St. Louis for Awolnation, Panic! At The Disco, Cold War Kids, Andrew McMahon In The Wilderness, and Vinyl Theatre (Left during Awolnation because they were too loud which makes me too old.....

oh I have tickets for Beans on Toast Aug 29 in Kansas City :-)

On Friday I saw what might top them all for me: Roger Waters at Newport Folk Festival, with help from G.E. Smith, My Morning Jacket, violinist Sara Watkins, Lucius, and Amy Helm (Levon's daughter). I think people overuse the word "surreal" but this really was ... I was on barrier right in front of Roger and just couldn't believe how cool this experience was. I grew up on Pink Floyd and they're sort of the musical love of my life so this was ... wow. He did 3 PF songs, 3 of his own and then some really cool covers (including Bob Dylan's Forever Young, since it was the 50th anniversary of Bob plugging in at Newport). He was just fantastic, really seemed to enjoy himself, and I loved having all those great musicians adding to it. I could ramble A LOT more.
I was also super impressed with Elephant Revival who were on the same stage earlier. I will have to check out more of their stuff. I will definitely go back and do the whole fest some year; what a cool vibe. I could only do the one day, just splurged for Roger. Then yesterday I picked up a friend in Boston and we drove to see Interpol in Philly, and they were also great. Nice to see them at their own show as opposed to big fests I'd seen them at.
