My daughter is at a Brand New concert tonight. Tickets were real hard to get for these guys, they tour so rarely. What I've heard from them, I like.

I saw Phosphorescent at the Workmans Club tonight. What a treat to see them in such a small and packed venue. We were blessed with perfect sound. I could hear everything so clearly. The audience didn't talk! Loved the peddle steel, and the girl on the organ is great. Matthew Houck came across as a really nice guy too. Very happy I went.
Support act were Dublin band Tandem Felix. Odd name, good singer.

My friend runs Nighthawks at The Cobalt and he was raving about Tandem Felix. They did a show for him, the singer is a droll fecker! The band weren't bad at all, I thought.

B-Sydes full band last night was excellent, far better than even I thought it would be. Also very nice to see Ducking Punches again, hadn't seen him since 2010 maybe and now he's a them!

I am beyond excited to see him (them) over here in the US in November. Someone on this forum (Blonde, maybe) suggested his album Dance Before you Sleep a while back, and I have worn it out! Love him!
shows? 90 so far...

How was it? I decided to give thees show a miss, but have seen the setlist they've been playing. I reckon it was probably awesome.

I thought it was pretty good, although there were some technical difficulties that caused about three or four songs to be stopped and restarted. At one stage Jim seemed to be having a proper go at William on stage after this had happened a couple of times at the start of the same song, so I'd say backstage wasnt that harmonious afterwards! They sounded pretty good to me and it could even have done with a little more volume, I thought. Set was a "best of" rather than playing the whole Psychocandy album which is apparently the plan for the UK tour in a couple of months.

I'm working near Bristol tomorrow and Thursday so I'm hoping to get to the free (Jim Lockey and the) Solemn Sun gig at the Exchange. Depends what time I get finished whether I get there or not but here's hoping!!
So if ever a man should ask you for your business or your name, tell him to go and fuck himself and tell his friends to do the same.

I'm also thinking about going tomorrow. Does anyone know how big the venue is? It's over an hours drive for me, so don't want to miss out!

It's pretty small. 200 I think. I was supposed to see someone there last year but couldn't make it.
