Mark McCabe and Ellen Cox last night in London, fantastic start to finish. They are heading to Europe now for a few weeks I urge everyone to check them out.

I've just acquired Rod Stewart tickets for tomorrow, should be fun. Counting Crows tickets went on sale today and i've forgot my bank card

I didn't know counting crows were touring. Just tried to buy tickets but it's only standing left.

I can only do seating gigs these days.

Gutted would have loved to see them.

Watched Larry And His Flask last night. Despite all of their misfortune (van, trailer, everything stolen). They put on a great show as always with new/borrowed instruments. The coolest thing: so LAHF had no merch to sell, just a donations bottle. Well, the band they were opening for, Foxy Shazam, had t shirts made for them to sell as a surprise. Just plunked them onto the empty merch table. The shirts were black and said, " Larry And His Flask's Van Got Stolen And All I Got Was This Lousy T-Shirt". Then Foxy wore them during their set. Such a nice thing to do.

I only found out from Lucy Rose, who i'm a fan of, who supported them on their last tour and will be again this time. Just hope there's tickets left when I get home later.

I'm disappointed I couldn't make it to LAHF recent UK tour, from what i've heard (All that we know) i'm really liking it. Hopefully they'll do it again next year.

I saw Solas at Whelans. I can never decide which is the best trad band in the world - Solas or Lúnasa. This was further complicated last night because Trevor Hutchinson of Lúnasa (and former Waterboy!) is guesting with Solas on their current Irish tour. Their new singer Noriana Kennedy is great.
Fantastic gig. Very warm in the venue! Winifred Horan however remains the coolest woman in trad.
Support act was a guy from Crumlin, Dublin, who is a very traditional kind of singer. His name was Daoirí Farrell and he was very good.

Next gig Glastonbury.

Saw Cage the Elephant, and didn't know what to expect. They put on a great rock show! Only lasted 75 minutes, but was full of energy!

Saw Ed Prosek tonight in London, he was awesome but once again the crowd talked throughout his set but not the pretentious piano girl that opened or the boring headline. Sad times, or maybe I'm the one in the wrong.

Saw Dexys again last night and they were amazing. Not sure how they will go down at Glasto, they aren't doing a 'hits' set as such and the hits they do play they have messed around with.

My Glastonbury highlights were (in this order) Robert Plant, Metallica, Holly Williams (granddaughter of Hank), Beans On Toast (not so much a gig as an experience!), Elbow, Dolly Parton, the Henry Girls, Jack White, the War On Drugs, Massive Attack.
