Went to see Samiam, Off With Their Heads and Apologies, I Have None last night at the Garage...

Apologies were excellent again. OWTH decent too...Samiam's set was hampered by diabolical sound for most of the set. Could barely hear the guitars or the singer. Just backing vocals, bass and drums and tons of feedback. Gutting when the sound ruins a set...only picked up for last few songs..

Billy No Mates played too who had at least one member of Snuff (drummer/singer) playing...

They're not the best, that's for sure.

I've got City and Colour at the Roundhouse, London on Tuesday (18th)

I've got a spare ticket at face value 22.50 if anyone interested, it's the unloved back out ticket it seems, i've had several people say they'd take it then found they couldn't and i really need to get rid of it.

Saw Eliza Carthy in Whelans. It was fabulous.

I had only ever seen her collaborate with her musical family and various tiresome collectives, but to see her do her own gig, with a great band, was brilliant.
She manned the CD stall afterwards, which was nice, and I have never seen anyone rip off cellophane so professionally.

Full of kids & all the associated garb. Don't expect a fun loving ska gig.

They've massively moved on from their original sounds to something a lot more poppy. The intro crescending into Blood On My Hands then tearing through Come Fi Di Youth. Good times.

Yeah I'm bitter Go see Random Hand, Sonic Boom Six, Dirty Revolution or Stuck In 2nd instead.

Just back from seeing the one and only Billy Bragg at the sold out Button Factory in Temple Bar. Brilliant!!
He still plays 'The milkman of human kindness', which he played the very first time I ever saw him. Plenty of songs I didn't know as well though. I bought his 'Fight Songs' CD.
Nice chat in between songs too. Billy congratulated Ireland on making the right choice when given the opportunity to choose between a poet and a millionaire businessman!

Seeing King Blues twice tomorrow. I won a competition with Kerrang to see them at an intimate gig on the morning, and then i have tickets to their gig at the O2 on the evening. Pretty excited about it. I saw them at Reading this year, and they were alright.
