FAO: PEOPLE IN MANCHESTER AREA.

My band Cahiers Du Cinema are playing The Oxford on Friday March 5th with 3 other awesome bands. You shold come!

Or something.

Lots of good post-hardcore/old emo-esque bands. Only a few beans to get in. Worth it!

Local Natives on the Thekla in Bristol last night were excellent. Much percussion and on ly let down slightly by te fact they played their dullest song last.... otherwise very good. Support band Peggy Sue were pretty good, although they looked like they could do with a wash. However, when passed by their singer during the Local Natives set I had a sneaky sniff and she smelled remarkably fresh....

So, Straight Lines on Tuesday were really good. Sound wasn't great in the Enterprise and the crowd was disappointingly thin (when you took out the support bands and their friends and family). Thought they were great myself though so didn't care about any of that really.

Last night, Los Campesinos were amazing at Koko. So much better than when I saw them at the Electric Ballroom a couple of years ago. New material sounded great and the setlist was spot on.

Good pics and audio from both so will get round to doing writeups at some point..

The Antlers at Union Chapel tonight.

That venue is going to suit them perfectly. Could be an amazing gig..

Shit, I bet it will be. I fucking hope they stand up live, it could be mindblowing if they make it work.

Yeah, really good gig in the end. Weird one to call as you're never going to come away thinking it was utterly amazing as their sound doesn't lend to that kind of show.

That said, the sounded really good on the night but I felt they needed to be a bit louder to fill the whole venue.

Seeing A Wilhelm Scream at The Peel the night after acoustic Alkaline Trio in April. Good times.

Just got back from Eric Clapton with special guest Roger Daltrey here and though we had the worst seats in the house (seriously, they were behind a curtain so we had to sit in the aisle instead), it was still worth every penny we paid. He especially was amazing. Amazing, amazing, amazing.

The Antlers were great on Wednesday, but as Mark said it could have done with being a little louder. I do love Union Chapel as a venue.

Tonight I'm going to see Billy Bragg at ULU.

Saw Frightened Rabbit at Thekla and instore at Rise in bristol, was really good. Last time I saw FR was at acoustic gig in birmingham which was alright but was a sat down. This has to be best I have seen them at though tonight
