Record Store Day 2016 enquiry

Hi,

I've only recently began collectin records and I know next Saturday is RSD 16.

I've seen Frank is releasing a special PSFNP Acoustic EP and I really wanna get my hands on it but I know there's 1000 copies being made.

This is my first RSD so how does it work? Will every participating store have a few copies of the record or will it only be selected ones?

If it's only a handful of stores with this record, how will I know which ones will have copies of it?

Sorry if I sound stupid with some of those questions.

You have to check on the internet which record stores take part of it and then you need to have some luck.

I went to two record stores and asked them if they could try to "order" it, but it's not really an order. They will ask for some of the RSD records and if they're lucky they will get it and have it in store. But they were not able to tell me for 100%.

So you can not find out about the stores who will have the record before it all happens. It's just luck and patient...

I've found it's just as easy to buy them off ebay.

I went to a store opening once and the 6 hr wait and massive car parking ticket really put me off ever doing it again.
My back is destroyed so I can't even consider queuing for something only to get to the front and be told it's sold out.

I abhore Record Store Day. I get all the arguments, but as a full time record collector I find it irritating. The idea of lining up on the off chance of picking up something you want is about as inviting as a rectal prolapse. Plus, the price of some of these things is lunacy. £10+ for a 7" single is taking the piss in the extreme.

I'm not in the city on this day anyway so I asked two records stores to save me a copy if they get one. But I will check some record stores in Warsaw as well... really wanna get this one this time.

the past few years Xtra Mile have had some for sale after the event - but not sure if that will be the case this time round.

Strictly speaking, the Frank record is not coming out on Xtra Mile. They usually get a few copies though, which is how I have managed to snag all his RSD records to date.

Wasn't about on sat and no longer a fan of RSD, to many flippers buying and selling on after to make a quick quid, managed to get mine from a record store off discogs this morning shipped from Europe to the UK for less than £30, I would have spent far more than that if I had gone so I'm happy with that

I'm still on the search for one. Going to see what the shops have when they put the RDS stock online next week

Happy my record store saved me a copy as we were in Warsaw and of course the only record store there did not have one.
