Not on the cruise?

So, I know a ton of people who are headed out on the Flogging Molly cruise as we speak, but I'm sadly not one of them. Anyone else in this little club with me? What are you doing instead?

Today I got to sit for hours and try to come up with answers to bidder questions about a dump truck solicitation. Which Tomorrow and Sunday I get to see The Menzingers in Montreal and Albany, NY. I sense that'll be more fun than today was.

Yep, another member of the 'not on the cruise' club here, despite my best efforts to get my holiday to coincide. But hey, who wants to be on a cruise ship being entertained by all those great bands when they could be working an 18-hour day trying to unravel a complex debt factoring agreement and then cancelling their birthday plans because they're going to be working away (again) . . . ?

On the plus side, I did cheer myself up considerably by buying tickets to see Will Varley at the Railway in May, so all is not lost.

Hope those who made it onto the ship are having a blast. We expect regular updates, people!

I'm not on the cruise either. Being from Germany, Florida is a long way to go for a gig, or even several gigs of great bands. With various other (non music) travel plans I have this year, I think I would have never even thought about going on the cruise, even had I known about it in time. I don't know. I'll be in London for the book event and the RAH gig in two weeks though, to get my first dose of FTHC in 2015 :)

All that said, I'm still kind of jealous of all the folks who decided to go and have a blast with great bands on that ship. And enjoying the Caribbean sun between the gigs.

What am I doing instead? Catching up with Idlewild music, which I didn't know before Frank announced them as special guest for the RAH gig. Great stuff!

I'm not on the cruise. I'm currently in London, (hiding from all the Arsenal fans that have disrupted my travel plans) enjoying the last couple of days of my week off. Yesterday I went shopping. Today I'll be heading home to go see Royal Blood at Rock City.

I did find myself wondering earlier whether there'd be a European version of a band cruise around the Mediterranean one year.

Not on cruise either even thought it sounds like a blast. Instead I'm getting ready to take daughter on a week long tour of of colleges in Joplin, New Orleans, and Nashville.

I love the idea of a Mediterranean version of the cruise. Or, if there are a bunch of us heading to the RAH show, we could always do our own cheapskate London version . . . pedalo on the Serpentine, anyone?

Who needs a fancy schmancy cruise ship, right?

Nope, not on cruise either, very jealous. Currently recovering from flu, missed the Quiet Quiet band and more to the point I missed Felix Hagan and the Family yesterday due to illness.
I like the sound of a Med salty dog thingy, being an infirm old fart I quite fancy the idea of wobbling around from gig to bar to restaurant, restaurant to bar to gig....repeat.

I'm still here on dry land. Well, actually it's a bit wet as it's been raining all day. But no cruise.

This week I have friends in the UK who get to see Muse's surprise album-drop shows in tiny venues, and friends on a cruise ship with Frank Turner. I'll just be sitting at home listening to vinyl and painting. Not that that's a bad thing to be doing, but ... yeah I'm a little jealous right now ...

a few things had to happen for me to go on the cruise... some of them did, sadly not all of them so I am not there either :-(

I'm pleased for the people that were able to go, at the same time utterly gutted for those of us who wanted to be but couldn't be.

Pleased to be in the non cruise club :-)

Well at least I'm not in this club alone. Menzingers were fabulous last night. And I didn't die in an accident on the way home either, despite a Canadian snowstorm trying it's best to send me into a ditch. It's the little things, folks...
