Re: Book
Only a few shows in and already enjoying it hugely. Making me oh so nostalgic for my own minor forays on the UK toilet circuit I was making around the same time. In particular one rather epic journey to play a show at The Fenton in Leeds, to the other band and about 3 paying punters. Had a crackingly boozy night after though if memory serves, and stayed at my cousin's place. Our singer tried desperately to chat up her housemate but to no avail, and I remember sleeping in an armchair in my clothes. Halcyon days really.
Sorry, excuse my getting all misty eyed. As you were. The book is very good.

Re: Book
Hi all,
I've been trying to post this for days but I keep getting SQL errors when posting from my phone.
Anyway, I have seen others in this thread asking for a fan edition if there were to be any about, and this is yet another request.
I missed out on a copy when they were on sale (I'l not bore you with the reasons why) and my recount of the Perranporth gig in May 2006 is in it, so I would love to have a one (if all the other requests in here are fulfilled).
If not would someone be willing to send me a photo/photocopy of that extract?
I did get my signed standard copy today and the peeps helping with the fan edition did say they would send me something for featuring in but not being able to get a fan edition, so that would be good too.
Cheers

Re: Book
I'm about a halfway through and really enjoying it so far.
I randomly met Jocke and stayed on his boat on my round-the-world taxi trip in 2011. Awesome guy, small world etc. etc.
It was also great to relive that early Fenton show and Rach's house party.
I was sure that the first play of Father's Day was at Rach's (I just remember the line: "This next one's called, 'My dad's a prick!' " and then a reference to it at the Leeds show a few days later) but my memory isn't the best so I'm probably misremembering.
Great work Frank.

Re: Book
On nights at the moment, which is giving me the perfect opportunity to get stuck into the book. As a result, I have The Road stuck in my head 24/7, not the whole thing, just Frank yelling 'one more FUCKING time' before the final chorus (live)
As lines go it's not the best thing to want to yell/sing at people, though marginally better than the line from Ben Marwood's song 'I'd be a sexual predator but I am too polite' - that one really gets you some strange looks...

Re: Book
Any chance there will be an eBook version of the fan edition? Was a bit too costly for me (though I totally appreciate, if nothing else, the cost of editing submissions from so many different people would be huge) but might fancy reading it at some point...
Re: Book
the nice thing about the fan edition is everyone who got a copy has their name inside it and a different dust cover / sleeve - having an e-fan edition take away all of that and is a bit pointless.Deano2099 wrote:Any chance there will be an eBook version of the fan edition? the publisher and frank may put them up somewhere one day - i was unsure whether i could actually put leanne's page on here as its a violation of copyright - so hope that is ok.

Re: Book
Oh I hadn't thought of that, as when I agreed to it being published I gave over the copyright. If Frank has a problem with it I'm sure he can delete the post as I don't want anyone to get into trouble on my account.marowak wrote:the nice thing about the fan edition is everyone who got a copy has their name inside it and a different dust cover / sleeve - having an e-fan edition take away all of that and is a bit pointless.Deano2099 wrote:Any chance there will be an eBook version of the fan edition? Re: Book
I would love to get a copy of the fan edition as well. It's not the same as a real book, and I realize that it was a limited edition with everyone's name printed inside.
I have a photo of "my pages", but seeing the bit above and below that already makes me want to read everyone else's stories. An e-version would do fine for that.

Re: Book
Have not received my copy here in the US. I remember reading about a hold up- has that been resolved yet?
Re: Book
I live in Florida and haven't received mine yet either. I'm hoping it'll be here tomorrow, or Saturday.
The eBook idea is great.
