Just saw three shows in the UK and saw a bunch of shows in the US. Didn't really notice much difference in crowd reaction. Some people like it. Some people don't. Some people change their mind half way through.

Perfect! So it's settled then. No difference. No matter what country, some like 'em, and some don't.

Ha! I went to that tour, I actually enjoyed it, but for most it went down like a shit sandwich. 'Hey! We're both Welsh, this is bound to work!'

I have to say, I'm very reluctant to be negative about KKKR. A lot of people last night seemed to love it, and everyone I've spoken to, (who were pretty sceptical about them before hand), have been totally won over after seeing them live.

I think if I'd been with different people (looking at you Blonde!) I'd have been able to get into it and enjoy it, but the guys I was with hated it, left after 2 songs, and headed to the other bar until they'd finished.

Personally, I think you need to be in the right mood/frame of mind to jump on board, I guess some people (myself included) just don't find it as easy to say 'fuck it' and make a fool of themselves doing dinosaur impressions.

At the end of the day, like I said, the majority seemed to love it, and that's the important thing. There have been plenty of supports I have LOVED in the past (Ben Marwood, Jim Lockey, Franz, Tim Barry, Dive Dive, to name a few) that might not have been to other people's taste, you can't please everyone. I don't really understand the hate, there's no need as far as I can see. Support acts tend to be a little hit and miss, if you don't like it, suck it up, the main act will be on soon!

I heard of the US reactions being pretty strong for and against, so I took a look at the videos, must confess I didn't think that UK audiences would join in much. But from what I saw from the box ( disabled seating) people were really getting into it. The best bit is when they go into the audience. But at the sides and back I don't think folks could see what was going on and I think some sloped off to the bar.

I think it's also worth saying that without Frank either promoting them and or having them as supports, I wouldn't have discovered loads of my favourite bands/singers, some of whom I now count as friends. And I'll always be grateful to him for that.

I was totally ready to throw myself into it but found myself with a large plastic cup of lemonade so couldn't really do much bouncing or hand movements... I do think maybe there's a high expectation on support bands, especially with more expensive gig tickets. If it's up to £15 or so then I'm not so fussed but more than that and I want to enjoy the whole show, yunno?

I watched KKKR in Oxford from the balcony. My first impression was that it reminded me of the holiday reps doing 'party dances' in a kids club and tuned it out, but as I watched Frank on the side of stage, and Matt just by me on the balcony doing the 'stomp stomp stomp chomp chomp' dinosaur dance I started to pay a bit more attention, and by the end I was singing along with probably 90% of the crowd. I actually really enjoyed them. The energy level was immense, and the crowd interaction was amazing! I think they're great, but can understand them not being everyone's cup of tea. Anyone who would have a go at them must be a proper twat though!
So if ever a man should ask you for your business or your name, tell him to go and fuck himself and tell his friends to do the same.
