iTunes Sessions

Post by smithyramfan » Tue Oct 29, 2013 11:08 pm

Anyone else downloaded the iTunes sessions released today? Downloaded it purely for the Live And Let Die cover but seriously loving the different version of Tell Tale Signs. Personally think its better than the version on Tape Deck Heart

I was considering if it was worth it for the one song, but now you've sold me, so I will tonight.

Frank also has 2 live songs on the new BBC live lounge album, The Way I Tend To Be and All My Life, but - on iTunes at least - you have to buy the whole album. And at £12.99 I think I'll wait a bit.

I dislike this as I dont use iTunes and have no desire to install it on my laptop.

So Im just going to throw a childish strop over in this corner of the thread.

Agreed about Tell Tale Signs - I like the studio version but always felt it would sound better stripped-back, like when Frank originally played it live. This version recaptures that sense of intimacy.

My favourite of the EP is the new version of "Cowboy chords". IMHO this is one of Frank's best songs ever and it is great to have a different version of it. I probably like it even better than the one on the album.
Love "Photosynthesis" with mandolin solo as well.

Was "Waterloo sunset" recorded in the same session? Am still hoping that will see the light of day sometime.

Would be nice, easy to rip from YouTube in the mean time until a proper recording of it shows up.............

Ah - I could do with your help here! I have watched it/listened to it on YouTube, but could you explain or is there a link on what to do to get that into my i-Tunes and therefore onto my i-Pod?

Wow, thank you so much for that link, AsGoodAsItGets!
I've just downloaded myself an album's worth of covers, including quite a few different ones that Frank introduces as the best song ever written (ha!).
Also delighted to get Bruce's new version of "Dream baby dream" onto my i-Pod.
Am very grateful.
