Thank you all so much for the good wishes and sponsorship, it really kept me going during the rough bits.

As did my Xtra Mile playlist haha. Had Ben Marwood 'I Promise You That It Will Be Ok' during the first peak, which was very reassuring. As I came up to the top of the second peak Broken Piano came on and it sounded amazing while looking out over the breathtaking view.

Finished in just over 12 hours. I am broken, but it was totally worth it.

Sending you lots of congratulations & hope you're recovering quick sharp!

With any luck your friend already knows about this site but it's also possible she doesn't. I only stumbled across it 2 years into dialysis. I had a look last night & it's what I remembered - for patients run by patients. Tell her to look out for Big Buzzard (his friend & keyboard player Maff was a live donor for him) & MandyV (she had a transplant from a deceased donor after 5 years). http://www.kidneypatientguide.org.uk/forum/index.php

For everyone else I've been there, done it & got the tee shirt. Dialysis was all about survival in the face of feeling like shite all the time, as if I had a permanent hangover, never knowing when the transplant call would come. It didn't stop me (& my husband) from getting on with our lives & trying to live as normal a life as possible. That was my way of coping. After 3 years on the waiting list a close relation gave me a kidney & I got my health back. & yes I feel I've kicked dirt in death's face & celebrate every time I'm at one of Frank's gigs hearing him sing the songs which hit me full force when I came across him. Sometimes it just feels amazing to be alive.

You can find out about living organ donation here http://www.organdonation.nhs.uk/how_to_ ... /index.asp
Please think about signing the organ donor register https://www.organdonation.nhs.uk/how_to ... onsent.asp
because people like Jayne are now entirely dependent on the kindness of others for the one thing which is priceless.
