Albums you love all the way through

Post by Bella » Wed Sep 04, 2013 8:10 pm

So... with the ipod thread and the things Frank turned you onto...

I tend to listen to whole albums rather than the radio, or odd songs.. There are some albums I really love but always skip at least one track, or ignore a track if I can't be bothered to skip it... there are also a few albums that I adore all the way through

Interested to see if anyone else has albums they love all the way through?

My current ones are

Chuck Ragan - Covering Ground
Counting Crows - August and Everything After
Dead Can Dance - Live Tour 2005
Def Leppard - Hysteria
Emily Barker and the Red Clay Halo - Almanac
Emily Barker and the Red Clay Halo - Dear River
Fighting With Wire - Man vs Monster
Fighting With Wire - Colonel Blood
Frank Turner - all of them...
Jetplane Landing - Don't Try
Jethro Tull - Crest of a Knave
John K Sampson - Provincial
Lamb - Fear of Fours
Lorimer - all of them...
Loudon Wainwright III - Career Moves
New Model Army - Thunder and Consolation
Sigur Ros - Ágætis byrjun
Tangerine Dream - Exit
Tangerine Dream - Tangram

I don't tend to listen to that many albums the whole way through anymore. Which is a shame, really.

But 3 albums I love to listen to the way through are:

1. The Black Parade - My Chemical Romance
2. England Keep My Bones - Frank Turner
3. Love, Ire and Song - Frank Turner

And I love every track from Ben Marwood's Outside There's A Curse :)
I'm no good at thinking of something funny enough for these things.

Nebraska - Springsteen. It's the one transcendent album for me. Every other one has 'that one song'.

I tend to listen to whole albums as a rule. I play them constantly and then move on to the next one that grabs me.
At the moment I am hooked the The Weakerthans, reconstruction site.
I have to ration Frank.

Somehow I totally forgot to add Jim Lockey and The Solemn Sun's 'Death' to my list!

wow - I'm delighted I'm not the only one who listens to whole albums and loves them just the way they are.

there are tons of other albums I love, but they tend to have between 1 and 3 songs that if I could skip I would (not always close enough to the stereo to press skip)

Intresting to see what's on here... mmmmmm more stuff for me to try

Thank you

:D

You are the only one who's admitted to listening to Jethro Tull though :P
