So I really loved the picture Frank posted on IG of the bench next to the river. I love that everyone on this forum is from all over the place, places I've never been and would love to go. Please post a favorite Picture from the city you live in!

This is at night of a lagoon by the marina downtown Milwaukee. A little dark, but I loved the shadow of the trees framing the city backdrop.

I live in a small market town and it is not very exciting, I have been here 24 years and you have just made me realise that I don't have a photo of it!!! Blimey, it must be dull!!!

I'm going to slightly indulge here and post two. One of my home city, and one of the town where I studied. I technically live in neither, but trying to find a decent picture of Birstall is like looking for hens teeth, so...

This is Leeds at Christmas. It'll always be my favourite place and it's extra special at Christmas.

This is Huddersfield. I studied at university there. In fact, you see that church? That is on campus, I graduated in there. I did a lot of growing up in my time there, so it's one of my favourite places, too. I walked down that street pretty much every day on my way to and from the bus stop while I was studying.

(Neither of the pictures are mine)

This is Athlone, Co Westmeath, Ireland.................

Just outside town where I live is Moydrum. Here are the ruins of Moydrum Castle, it was used by U2 for the cover of their Unforgetable Fire ablum, hence the framed poster of said album cover over my fireplace..........

This is the Central Library/Museum in Liverpool... I love this picture (not mine) because it looks like it could have been from years and years ago

Pretty, everyone!!

I live in Ballinafad, which is essentially a boring hamlet subdivision in Ontario. But I am planning on going to the REAL Ballinafad in N.I. at the end of the month, so I will take a picture of that then.

In the meantime, here's the houses in Mauritania:

This is the giant phallus in the old part of my town. Not my favourite place but hilarious.

This is the park in the town centre, lovely place.

I live in Dublin, but I guess people know what that looks like. I love Dublin, by the way.
This is where I am from - Tolkamer in the Netherlands. Right on the border with Germany, where the river Rhine enters Holland. I am visiting here at the moment.

Everyone's European stuff is so beautiful. Makes me feel like, I have to make more time to travel.

And Cassie, I love your photo. The contrast of the brightly lit city with the slightly sinister foreground. Makes me wonder what is going on in those woods?

And, Venomous_Bear, what can I say? I hope you are either doing very meaningful work, or they are paying you a shitload of money.

So my town of Gainesville, Florida is very boring in comparison to everyone else's. It is basically a college town with the major theme being Gators. Either wearing cleats or sunning themselves on a bank. (of note: I'm no photographer)

This is a photo of the many sports venues on University of Florida campus: I'm sitting down the first base line in the baseball stadium. Behind, is the O'Dome home of basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, swimming. Then, finally in the back is the football stadium lovingly called "The Swamp".

This photo is from LaChua Trail, a place that depending on high or low water is always chock full of alligators. These are not overly large, the largest about 5-6 feet (1.8 meters)

I agree! And awww, I freaking love Florida! And Gainesville is nice!! :) shall have to hang out when I go there again (we have family/snowbirds who live around there).

Re: your other comment, the answer is no to both. Despite my best efforts, the project is not being embraced, rather sabotaged by a person who believes there is a better way, despite knowing very little about geology. The cunts (most are nice, but roar) that work there full time make 3x as much as I do, despite the fact that I'm basically on the same schedule as they are for the time being.

I don't mean to whine so much, as I should be happy to have a job, and that it is adventurous. But... Sigh. That's why I go to see Frank when I can. Lately it's the only thing that cheers me up! Huzzah!
