Strangest/worst thing you've seen whilst watching Frank

Post by Craven » Tue Aug 27, 2013 1:46 pm

So at Reading festival on Friday I witnessed the disturbing site of a naked man sitting on some other guys sholders, with his cock and balls just resting on the carriers head.

Whilst this was bad enough, a couple of songs later the naked guy is now down off the sholders and singing along to Frank, whilst the guy that was carrying is now tugging off the naked guy.

Can anyone top that?

Nope ... Although - I am still mentally scared by seeing Pete flash his cock at Evan at a Lexapalooza gig once ...

That sort of shit is hugely libellous. I demand a retraction and apology....

There's no way you'd be able to see my cock from any sort of distance.

Evan and Pete really need to learn how to behave in public.

excellent thread.

from my POV, the mini-race war that broke out in Regina, Canada, halfway through the set, takes some beating (white guys and canadian indian girls started beating the fuck out of each other in the front row; took me a while to grasp the contours of the argument; when I did, my mind blew).
Shows? All of em.

not at a Frank gig but I did see a much older guy playing with a girl of about 16, I believe they were married as they were wearing wedding rings and suppose my own fault for going to a Bon Jovi concert. She got lost coming back to her seat at one point and started to cry, he just watched her and made no move to help her out so a bit of a twat to be honest.
Still not sure what was worse, seeing Bon Jovi or that.

Seen plenty of naughtiness going on at gigs, still, prefer that to the fights.

This wasn't at a FT gig, but at Bonnaroo, while seated in the the blazing sun watching Jason Isbell, a nicely written sign slowly lifted itself above all those seated, and it said, "ANYONE WANT ACID?"
shows? 90 so far...

Kind of semi-watching Frank, but at Leeds Festival this year, I ended up stood next to a family (mum, dad, two kids around 10+14) at the barrier. Not only did they have a shit tonne of bags (seriously, there can't have been a need for at least half the bags they had). The dad had an expensive looking camera - I resisted the urge to ask why he didn't look into a photo pass if he wanted pictures - yet he was stood right at the barrier. He seemed to like to take pictures of topless girls when they crowd surfed, too... He clearly had no idea what to expect and when everyone around us started dancing, singing an screaming, the look on his face was priceless. He even had the audacity to whinge at a girl who kept accidentally standing on his bags (the crowd was getting lively at this point - she couldn't help it, as you rarely can when at the front of a show being pushed around). His face was a picture too, when Frank said effectively that he didn't care that it was raining and muddy when he told everyone to sit for Photosynthesis. The guys face was even better when people actually did it. I really don't know what they were expecting. I mean, it was a festival for fucks sake, it was never going to be calm. Still, it was certainly entertaining (if a little annoying at times) watching him as bands came and went - especially when a couple of the singers stood on the barrier right in front of us. I think he learned his lesson. I left the barrier after Frank's set, but I kind of wish I'd stayed!
I'm no good at thinking of something funny enough for these things.

I saw some girl pass out at the Hatfield show, any back-story on that? (not strange at all, just wondered)

I can't match these stories, and I've certainly never seen anyone performing sex acts at a gig (I guess you wouldn't get away with it at the Frog & Fiddle), but I saw a strange family at the Wembley Arena gig.

During Billy Bragg I was stood near-ish the front, just where the crowd is a little more dispersed and less squashed. There was a mum, dad and teenage son (old enough to drink). All through his set they were talking loudly (very annoying) and berating/shouting at Billy (extremely annoying). Part of this was shouting for 'A New England' to be played. After 30 minutes of taking the piss out of Billy Bragg, when he did finally play 'A New England' they sung along to every work like it was the best song they've ever heard.

Granted, it is the best song anyone's every written but he was obviously going to play it at the end of his set. Why take this piss? I just couldn't work these people out.

God I have led a sheltered existence!
I watched Frank at Hatfield through the bars of the balcony railing...must have looked demented rocking in my chair singing every word......
The most surreal thing I have seen at an event....I worked for a childloss charity and we organised a lobbying event at the Houses of Parliament....half way through her speech my MD got heckled by a pissed up member of the house of lords....he stumbled in, stole some afternoon tea and got ushered out again. At least he didn't flash us his tackle.
