I had a frustrating set. There were no infills - speakers that make sure people at the front can hear as well as the people at the back. And we had been planning a special encore for a few months and had to cut it. That sucked. I felt pretty bad for dropping my guitar though, not very professional, plus the rest of the set was great and the crowd were ace.
Shows? All of em.

Are we ever going to find out what the special encore was? Or will it forever be a secret?

As for dropping your guitar… what a fucking diva! :P

If you couldn't hear him down the front it's because you're not in the dispersion area of the speakers each side. Imagine that the speaker stacks/line array at each size disperses sound 90 degrees horizontally each, if you're at the front almost in line with the speakers then you're not going to hear that much of what the speakers are putting out. You're much more likely to hear the onstage sound (guitar amps, bass, drums etc). What they needed was front fills, I noticed on the second day they had re-angled the stage fills at each side of the stage to be front fills, so maybe that was a result of whatever during Frank's set.

I heard from someone at the festival that he got angry afterwards and threw down his guitar after his main set. The Thurs set was far superior and a truly special thing to witness.
this kind of makes sense as I was right infront of tarrant and all I could here was his bass amp well above everything else? In terms of the mic it seemed to get better about halfway through the set, exact same thing happened with stornoway on the saturday though so whatever they tried to do didn't work.

Ah that sucks, the production should never limit the artist in what they want to do. I'd love to know what that special encore was.

BigEgg - I'm a little disappointed that your avatar is an old photo and doesn't show your awesome facial hair.

He killed Broken Piano in Toronto. We were just sitting there in full absorption mode... Shivers. Here is a substandard copy...http://youtu.be/HeXpx-k6Fss
What you can't hear is the first few rows in awestruck silence... if you could see him singing it... just wow.

I know is not the same as being there, but I'm sure he'll play it sometime soon again and with the same feeling...
