Where does Tape Deck Heart fit in?

Post by Unorthadox1080 » Mon Apr 29, 2013 7:50 pm

My order goes:

1. Love Ire And Song
2. England Keep My Bones
3. Tape Deck Heart
4. Sleep Is For The Week
5. Poetry Of The Deed

However I feel 2 and 3 may be subject to change perhaps...

I think its too early to say ...

Interesting thinking about the other albums tho ... as a standalone album L,I&S is my fav - with England very close behind ...

1. Love Ire and Song
2. Poetry of The Deed
3. Tape Deck Heart
4. Sleep is For the Week
5. EKMB

Although this is subject to change on a daily basis. I don't see why people (Frank included) seem to have negative opinions of Poetry, sure some of it isn't perfect and doesn't run so well as some of the other albums but it definitely has some amazing songs on.

I think it just lacks that killer track in the way LI&S has prufrock and EKMB has I am disappeared. But I agree it's a solid 7.5/10 for me and has a few quite good tracks on it. It does have some tough competition though haha

2. Poetry of the Deed
3. EKMB
4. Sleep Is For the Week
5. Tape Deck Heart (We just don't have enough history together, yet)

Impossible task.

At this moment in time, it does change at an exceptional pace, but at this point in time:

1. Sleep Is For The Week
2. England Keep My Bones
3. Tape Deck Heart
4. Poetry of the Deed
5. Love, Ire and Song

As people have said, this is tough company. Love, Ire and Song was one of my favourite albums on the planet a few months back, but my mood and mindset has changed recently. I'm sure this list wouldn't be agreed upon by many though
17/03/10, 16/06/10, 04/03/11, 18/05/11, 26/11/11, 13/04/12, 18/08/12, 23/08/12 (MH), 17/11/12, 31/12/12, 17/04/13, 11/07/13, 12/07/13, 24/08/13, 09/02/14, 12/02/14, 28/6/14 (MH), 02/08/14, 12/09/14, 27/09/14, 28/09/14, 28/01/15, 17/03/15, 10/08/2015 x2..

England Keep My Bones
Tape Deck Heart
Sleep is for the Week
(=3) Love, Ire and Song
Poetry of the Deed

Just my opinion, now if we were including Rock & Roll EP...

Rock and Roll EP
Love, Ire and Song
England Keep my Bones
Sleep is for the Week
Poetry of the Deed
Tape Deck Heart

It's growing on me, but it's still not better than Poetry... yet, when I'm thinking about which album to listen to in full I barely ever say Poetry and I can see Tape Deck Heart being the same as there are some songs that don't fit there for me i.e. 4SW.
Rock and Roll EP is still my favourite bit of Frank work and has been since release.

1. Love Ire & Song
2. Tape Deck Heart
3. England Keep My Bones
4. Sleep Is For The Week
5. Poetry Of The Deed

However, I'd say the Top 4 can interchange at any point, they're four of my all time favourite albums

1. Tape Deck Heart
2. Love Ire and Song
3. Sleep is for the Week
4. Poetry of the Deed
5. EKMB

New album euphoria might eventually fade, but right now Tape Deck Heart is reigning supreme. 4 and 5 are basically equal, since both were great albums that could have been improved by substituting some of the weaker tracks with the better bonus tracks released around the same time. 2 and 3 also shift positions based on how I'm feeling on that particular day.

1. L I & S
2. Tape Deck Heart
3. Sleep
4. EKMB
5. Poetry

Poetry still ranks above a considerable portion of my record collection, mind you.

1.Love, Ire & Song
2.England Keep My Bones
3.Tape Deck Heart
4.Sleep is for the Week
5.Poetry of the Deed

All these are so very close together though and I still think Poetry is an awesome album. I would probably actually have it as this:

1.LIAS/EKMB
2.Tape Deck Heart
3.SIFTW/POTD

I feel like it is really too soon to be acquainted with TDH and to be honest, my ranking will change from day to day anyway. But because I felt like doing it, this is my current list:

4. Sleep Is for the Week
5. Tape Deck Heart
4.2.09, 9.13.09, 2.14.10, 2.15.10, 2.16.10, 2.17.10, 8.11.10, 10.15.10, 10.16.10 x2, 09.27.11 x2, 10.07.11, 3.3.12, 3.4.12, 3.5.12, 9.18.12, 9.29.12, 9.30.12, 3.6.13, 3.7.13, 3.15.13, 6.7.13 x2, 6.8.13 x2, 8.8.13, 10.9.13, 11.27.13, 11.29.13, 11.30.13
